Todd McShay's 1st NFL Mock Draft

There are some decent free agent wide recievers next year, we get Gettis back along with Lafell, and for the most part our offense is pretty damn good. We need OL more than recievers! We can't continue to hope and pray our offense beats the other team every week, we need a fuggin defense. LB looks sucky next year in free agency, and we have Beason along with Anderson that's it. Davis is a major risk, Conner is not really a starter, Gaither is....well who the heck is that?, Senn is backup. There are some decent OL available in free agency if we can't get Kalil so our focus should be defense. That's what killing us right now! How about some defensive secondary or DE help please?

You mean to rotate in or to replace Hardy?

I just looked up Blackmon again to see why you guy are drooling.

He is "6'1" (more likely 6'0 or shorter after the combine) with avg. speed and you act like he is Megatron or something.

We have 2 wr on the roster now who are 6'3 and faster.

This would be more then a wasted pick if we took Blackmon.

you keep bringing up his numbers (which are pretty damn good) and his physical attributes like they matter. steve smith is FIVE FEETT AND NINE fugING INCHES. just a question, have you ever actually watched blackmon play, or are you basing his potential, skill and whatever else purely on whats on paper. get a clue.

fact is he runs some pretty fuging good routes (yes, this matters in case you're wondering, it's not all about speed). he has good speed (4.4, he's not a burner obv). EXCELLENT, reliable hands. great athleticism and toughness for breaking tackles and an AMAZING ability to control his body in the air.

have also heard he has great worth ethic and is just a genuinely good guy

1st. Off that article was written by the AP which if you've been a Panther Fan long enough. You know they really don't know poo about any small market team.

If you want to use a article to help you make a point go with Person, Gnatt, Reed or Pat Y. They actually follow the team.

2nd. In your article he said we would looked outside the roster.

And while talking about the LB and Edwards coming back he didn't mention if he thought the secondary was playing well or can get better by not adding anybody.

3rd. Again we can find a 6'1 wr with avg. speed in the 2nd 3rd 4th or 5th or 6th round.

Steve smith was a 3rd round you want to use a top 15 pick on blackmon.

Do you see the difference here?

Great # this Guy

Had better # and he was a 2nd round pick but atleast he was 6'5.

Yes I've seen Blackmon Play and guess what I also saw D jarret, Carlos Rodgers, Mike Williams, and david Terell. And I thought all of them were better.

WTH??? He had actual QUOTES from them on the topic, so because of that what the hell does it matter who wrote the article? And you didnt say what particular writers to look up, u just said find a article. LOL

rivera said senn has a good shot at becoming the full-time starter next year.

Rivera Lying to you dog. If you think he going to be Ok with a 5'10 LB being his starter next year. You must be crazy.

Not Saying Senn hasn't done a good job. But he won't last the season if he has to be a full time starter.

lmao. this is completely irrelevant. comprehension, get some. you said something like "blackmon is a mere 6'0, not 6'5 like calvin johnson" as if it were a huge knock on him. remember, most receivers aren't the size of megatron, he's a god damn freak. my point is you can still be productive and even ELITE without being a freak of nature physically.

my god you're dense

dwayne jarrett did not have better numbers than blackmon, so you can go ahead and stop spewing that bullshit.

Yeah i mean there are 5'9 explosive physical receivers that play like there 6'5 that come out every draft. We will definitely find another Steve Smith.

Right, but it's such an advantage to have a Power Forward playing WR instead of a point guard. IMO I wouldn't target ANYBODY in that position but a guy of his stature. If it's not there, Trade down, Collect defensive players and a RT. Done.

not always. being taller obviously doesn't make you better. i'm not even saying we should pick him, i'm saying he's an extremely talented receiver that will be successful at the next level

I haven't even read any of this thread or your conversation so I'm not trolling ya, Just think big tall powerful WR's are for the future and we currently have plenty of small quick wr's.

Edit: Not that I think blackmon isn't the best wr in this class though. I'd be satisfied if we selected him although it seems unlikely given our needs.

Yeah it does the guys I showed you are actual beat writer fo the team. Usually when they say somthing is going to happen it does. Most of the stories they write are taking by the AP.

But to help you here is a article by Pat Y on Mcsham mock draft.
