Both players burst onto the scene in college, winning a national championship and were both acknowledged as the best player in college before entering the draft. Cam and MJ are both known for being very charismatic. They were among the top picks in their drafts, both going to struggling teams and immediately helped change the culture and nature of those teams upon arriving. Cam and Jordan are each recognized as being extremely hard workers in and out of practice despite some feelings contrary to that. Even their personalities are quite similar.

Jordan struggled early in his career because he felt the need to win on his own and carry his teammates until he learned how to operate within the team. You know, not that that is similar to a certain situation here or anything.

It's an almost ineffable quality about both players as well that makes me draw the comparison, just the attitudes and way they go about playing the game. Does that mean I think Cam is going to have the same level of success as MJ? Certainly not.

I wouldn't take Gross' comments to mean he didn't think Cam was a leader in September.

Remember, he said this at the beginning of November:

I think when he said "I like him better now," I think Cam has loosened/lightened up a little, whereas in the early part of the season he was taking losses to heart and it was clearly getting to him emotionally. Mr. Mopey Head and what not. Basically like fieryprophet said.

go ahead and try to find some negative spin to put on it if you want.

all comments coming from him and others on the team was that he was respected and well liked right away for the work he put in and his attitude. over time they have come to like him and respect him even more.
