i'd rather keep our guys around with normal contracts than have their contracts inflated because they won a popularity contest and got to go on a vacation and play some stupid game that nobody watches.

when you have people snubbed regularly in favor of guys who come from some big market team and then others who go, "thanks, but no thanks. my season's over and i'd rather be on a real vacation" and then the players from two teams eliminated because they went to the superbowl, it all just gets a little watered down to be any real honor and not worth the potential hassle.

Its an honor being picked as an all-star among great athletes. Same as being named all-conference..all-american. Sure guys get snubbed from it in all sports..it happens..ok. To wish guys on your team don't get that honor is crazy to me. Its an accomplishment to an athlete. Recognized for their talents. I want guys from our team representing the panthers in the pro bowl every season.

In before "i want guys to represent us in the super bowl"...yes we all want that. Ultimate goal. But I also want our guys to be rewarded for their seasons...(Smith, Cam, Gamble, Anderson..etc)

i'm a fan of the team. i want what's best for it and what's best for the team, imo, is to not have their contracts inflated because now they have that "pro-bowl" designation beside it making it not just harder to keep them, but to keep others and bring in more talent.

i also don't think it's as big a deal as it used to be. you water down the talent pool by taking away players from two of the best teams in the league. other players who should be going are saying they would rather stay at home. and you have fans of big market or overly hyped teams voting a million more times than fans of smaller market or lesser hyped teams and you end up with 12-13 players from one team...something is wrong.
