Peppers not talking to teammates

i think what people are saying is that peppers will be used as a pure pass rusher and the other OLB will cover so i dont think the learing curve will be a prob..if anything he could make a DEF better him standing up with his size and speed would cause probs with the match ups he would get..

I doubt very highly they bring him in just to rush the passer. I have read numerous times that they feel "If you do one thing only you have to be very, very good at it". He isn't so good at it that I would do that for the $$ and picks. Rosey Colvin was primarily a pass rusher in Chi, and he did get a big FA deal from NE and played WOLB (which is the only spot I can see Pep in EVER on a 3-4) but he was pretty much a 3 down guy and had to play the run too. Now JT, they MIGHT do that with (pass rush specialist) because he won't be viewed as anything but a bridge and won't cost the dough and picks. Their OLBs are iffy right now with their starting SOLB in KC now (Vrabel) and possible WOLB coming off injury (Thomas, I say possible becaue he has played ILB as well). I think JT makes far more sense in every possible way. Maybe if they solidify SOLB, they put AD @ ILB next to Mayo on passing downs (Bruschi has been a two down guy for many years now) and have JT @ WOLB on 2nd & long & 3rd & mid to long. Or they put AD @ SOLB and have Guyton & Mayo inside. (Their continuing problem is that they have never ever to this day really replaced Ted Johnson so they aren't real solid @ILB.) They are interested in flexibility and that gets them more bang for the buck than getting Pep IMO.

As I said though they are very tough to predict, so who knows?

Dude you aren't ignorant! As I said, I could be hugely wrong even though I may know a bit more about the team.

I'm clearly ignorant on this subject. I mean based on the amount of research you've clearly done, I need to do more reading on what the NE situation is. I'm using the word ignorant in the correct sense, not the insulting version.

Im still hoping for a better deal than what KC got from MN for Allen. Two first rounders though are out of the question, especially with most teams wanting to trade their early picks to acquire more picks. Almost all of the NFL is going with a youth movement.

It really comes down to what he is worth to us. Is Peppers worth two 1st rounders to us? I'd take it, but I think he's worth less then that. Would two 2nd rounders + one 3rd rounder + freeing up 17 million dollars be a good deal? I'd take it in a heartbeat.

2 1st rounders

1st + 2 2nds

1st + 2nd

1st +2 3rds

2 2nds + 3rd

not sure i would go much beyond that....unless a player (good older vet or young guy with potential) was involved in the trade.

Pretending a journalist is looking for anything other than hype or an award or to keep a paycheck (*ahem* yas) as a primary source who would never post anything but the truth is denial at it's finest.

There are a rare amount of "sports journalists" who actually do their job and make sure everything is factual. After a few "A source close to the story" plugs and you can ditch them for valuable info.

i hear what you are saying but i still think if not the pats one of these new teams switching to a 3-4 will want peppers because of his potential...his size and speed could in at least theory could make him one of the best pass rushing OLB in a 3-4...teams will not pass that up

I could see a 3-4 team that has a bunch of cap room possibly doing it. That's about it. I think GB has that...but again, they aren't one of the "preferred teams" of Pep. That was a really, really stupid statement by his agent to make publicly even if it's true. NEVER limit your bargaining power. Isn't that about the first thing you should learn as an agent?

Yeah that wasn't bad. He's pretty decent.

And I am now starting to get angry with him for doing NOTHING to date either way. If he wants to move on, for effs sake ACT like it.

And I agree, he will hear booing out the ying yang if he stays. I wouldn't boo but I understand 100% the sentiments of those who would.
