You can say what you want about this kind of thing, but homefield advantage is very real. It may not be a major thing for us just yet, but it can have a real impact on the game. Fans can do a lot to lift a team.

Have always made it a point not to say "we" or "us". I don't bust my ass getting in shape, I have no skills, and I don't put my body on the line. Nothing I or we do or think has any bearing on the teams performance.

I don't think anyone who says "we" think they have the same level of impact on the game as the players, but the team is at least in part ours considering we basically pay for it etc.

Last week, after the Panthers lost at home to Atlanta, longtime season-ticket holder R. Bruce Rognon, 71, of Pinehurst, N.C., was walking from the stadium to his car. Rognon collapsed. He died of a heart attack. His memorial service was Saturday in Pinehurst, and Panthers owner Jerry Richardson, who did not know Rognon, got in his car and drove the 80 miles to the service. "He [Rognon] never missed a game,'' said Richardson. "The least I could do was go to the service and pay my respects. These fans are amazing. They do more than invest their money. They invest their time and emotion, and they buy into your team. It is such a sad thing for the family.''

I love that he got it in his car and drove to the funeral of a man he didn't know.

If someone asks you who your team is - don't say the Panthers. They are not "your" team, just a team that you cheer for.

In many ways, it is "our" team more so than many other teams in the NFL... if thousands of fans hadn't stepped up and bought PSL's back in the day, there would be no Carolina Panthers.

You might be a fan of the team...but are not actually part of the team. I guess we'd all like to feel as if we are though.

WRONG!.....We buy the merchandise, the tickets,...pay for the parking, the concessions. Add to that the emotional investment year in, year out. It's OUR team.
