When refering to the Panthers...

...why do people use inclusive pronouns? Our, we, us, etc.

"We should have punted on fourth down"

"Our defense sucks"

You might be a fan of the team...but are not actually part of the team. I guess we'd all like to feel as if we are though.

Every fan base does it. With the amount of emotions vested in the team, I feel the pain and joy of every win. I stick by them through 1-15 seasons and feel the anguish that goes with it. As well as the amount of money invested in the team through going to games, paying for sunday ticket, and buying merchandise. It is my team.

any players of any team will tell you that the fanbase is a huge part of the team and that they want and love their support. After all, we are the ones paying money to see them, buying their merchandise, funding them, and cheering them on every sunday. Also, every team is a part of their community/city/state, etc. and support that community in any way possible so they are a part of us and we are a part of them. So it is "OUR" team.
