Winning/Losing Out

of course we want to win but when the seasons already in the tank and your teams rebuilding you always want to be able to get the best draft picks available. We have led in almost every game this year so in my opinion we are only a few pieces away from becoming a playoff team. This team will also get better as Cam gains more experience. Those top 5 draft picks look nice but I think we will be okay without it. The more Wins Cam gets this season means the more he is progressing as a QB the more our team is coming together for Ron Rivera's system. Usually teams that end their season well do better the next season.( I don't know that for a fact but it seems like it happens)

I see us winning out because we play Tampa and probably a Saints team that will rest its players.

I could maybe (maybe) see the "don't win a meaningless game" argument if it was the difference between 1 overall and 2 overall with a superstar QB coming out. Even then it's a stretch to be able to make a case for it.

Any other draft position and I'd say no - win the games. Teams that win those meaningless games and lose draft stock historically do better the following season. That's probably skewed a bit by the fact that the teams who did win those games were probably better teams that didn't but if other people can twist stats to make their point then damnit so can I.

This year is a lot different than last year. Last year I wanted to get the number 1 pick because I felt between Luck and Newton there were two awesome opportunities to get a big time franchise QB.

Now that we have that franchise QB, all I want to do is win. The degree of separation in other skill positions aren't as wide as it is with those two QBs I wanted. Momentum is the most important thing. If we pick outside the top ten there will still be impact players at defensive positions available.

just win baby.

The Browns lose every year, do all of those draft picks help them?

Winning breeds winning.

It's not that simple. Theres more to it then just picking a top player.

Its all about scouting. Getting the late round players that end up as starters. You also have to have the right players for your system and the right coaches to develop them.

Also Talent alone doesn't win games. Look at the Eagles. It takes chemistry, coaching, luck, ect. to win games.

I say anyone you put on the field should try their best to win. Having said that, I am not certain the last two games will not be against second/third stringers for both teams. Not sure that instils momentum for next season. Most teams at this point start looking for next season and playing guys who have not had a chance to see the real bullets flying.

Would it be smart to play some other guys to evaluate them? Senn has been a nice surprise. Wonder if there are others.
