With two games to go

Indy got their T this year I believe. This is the way I would like to see it play out. Vikings take Luck, Colts take Richardson or trade out to acquire picks, and the Rams get nostalgic and draft Blackmon or trade out. If that happens, Kalil could slip to us.

Teams like the Browns and Dolphins already have their franchise tackles. The Bills may take him if they pick before us, but hopefully they either win out or have another need to fill. I guess at this point, we just have to wait and see what the needs will be for each team.

I would be giddy if Kalil fell to us, but I really don't see it happening. The Rams have spent quite a few picks on Ts lately so they might not take him but other than the Rams, Browns and Dolphins most teams that might be picking before us could easily pull the trigger on a likely elite LT.

I'd be surprised if the Vikings took Luck, Ponder has played well enough this year to hope to build on. Indy is still a game behind the Vikings and I'd be shocked if they won another game. If somehow the Vikings did end up with the #1 overall, they'd most likely try to trade out of it, maybe to Cleveland for their two 1st rounds and a 2nd this year and next year's 1st.

Plus, with today's win and a likely win next week we're just falling down the draft board. I'm starting to lose hope for Claiborne, even. Might end up with that OLB after all, or the #2 WR (whomever that may be). Maybe even far enough for a DT to not be a huge reach. At this point, it's becoming hard to project our pick.

I hope the Vikings end up with the 1st overall pick. That way they can get Andrew Luck (do not want to see him in a Colt uniform), and at the same time this could cause Kalil to slip.

don't think the vikings would pick luck, they'd probably trade the pick. i'd hate to see luck in vikings purple because, if he is good (i realize he's a "can't miss superstar prospect at qb, but there's something about him that makes me think he might not be all he's cracked up to be), he'll have ADRIAN fugING PETERSON to hand the ball off to.

i feel like kalil is already a viking if he comes out

I just have a bad feeling about Kirkpatrick.

Me too. I think he is injury prone. He tore both labrums in his left and right shoulder. Pull muscles frequently, and had a concussion in the LSU game. I don't feel like he will be able to stay on the field.. but I don't doubt his football skills.

There is a 0% chance that Kalil drops to pick #8-10 (where we will be picking). Move on. :beatdeadhorse5:

Riley Reiff.

Riley Reiff will be on the board... but at that point, you have to ask yourself.. is OT the biggest need on the team? I could see taking Kalil if we were #2 or #3.. but that is just because he is the best talent on the board. When you drop down to about pick #10, you start drafting more on need rather than BPA because the blue chip prospects are generally off the board.

I highly doubt Reiff will be our top player on our board at that juncture.

Ouch! Didn't know about all the injuries. I usually like him more than offers but after reading that I have to reevaluate. Martin is a strong possibility. I'm not huge on Bell at RT.

    • You and I both know there isn't a coach we could or can still hire that can "fix" Bryce Young. Even at mighty Alabama with one of the best modern coaches in college football history Mac Jones was still a better QB than Bryce Young. Mac Jones.... We already know how you feel about Canales on a personal level so in that regard you wanting him fired is not news. You don't have to disguise it behind this shroud of rabble about not fixing Bryce Young. To his credit he somehow had us competive against the Chiefs and the Eagles on the road with #9. But no coaching staff can overcome their starting QB turning the ball over 4 times. We definitely have developed some of our younger offensive pieces. And as far as Evero goes he has earned criticism and if he's fired so be it but in his defense many of us said in the offseason this defensive roster was a disaster waiting to happen given the resources we spent on the offense while neglecting the defense. That was Dan Morgan's plan. He swung too hard toward offense to salvage the Bryce Young trade. That's on him. We can scream about XL all we want but at least he's actually been on the field for the most part. The Brooks pick was a luxury pick at the time and now it is a Hurney level blunder. Dan Morgan has gotten a lot of early praise here when in reality he's unequivocally deserving of significant criticism. But if you say that some people get up in arms because he's a former Panther. Big whoop. He has just as much to prove this upcoming season as Canales. That's why to me in my own personal opinion I say one more season and then if it's more of the same say goodbye to both.
    • It's a decent vid with compelling reasons for his opinion. But, my thing is is that you simply can't draft McMillan thinking he is a surefire WR1. There are questions. His 40---rightly or wrongly---will play a part. I'd think that his splits (which will speak more to his game translating to the pros in my mind) are more important.  As much as you're trying to sell us that McMillan is a don't-overthink-it-type-of-player, I wouldn't say that's the case. Workouts will play a part in all of this.  At this point, I like the thought of Tetairoa. That's as much as I can give you right now.
