My opinion of this coaching staff will take an astronomical drop if that is the case. Mare has proven he isn't a long term option. Rivers needs to drop his obsession with big leg kickers and sign a reliable guy. Points take precedent over field position-always.

Didn't kunalic kick a 60 yarder in practice? I remember reading that somewhere. Mare couldnt hit from 60 in his wettest of dreams.

Kickers routinely hit 60+ FGs in practice and warms ups. My highschool had a guy kicking 70+ yard field goals. Then he got to Wake and was never heard of again. Kicking is about being able to do it in a game situation with people trying to block it and pressure.

It's like me being able to hit a driver 350 at a driving range and then not being able to get it out of the tee box on the golf course. :(
