All this talk about who to draft...

It's still way too early to tell, and you know you are on a thread of hope when we start talking about events taking place in April. However, reading threads with people saying draft a rookie DT because that's the answer to all our woes is just plain.... well... stupid.

If we were to have the draft today I would hands down take an OLB, Thomas Davis is done. 3 strikes and you're out.

If there is no quality OLB at our spot to take, don't reach, trade down and stockpile picks to get even more depth on defense. The offense isn't the problem, DT isn't the problem. We got Special Teams LB's on the field trying to make tackles that Jason Baker has an equal chance of making (kidding).

You can say "What about Otah" and "What about Munnerlyn". But those positions can be filled with quality players in Free Agency. Plus, Hogan will be ready to go next season and might have a shot to compete for something, even if it's the Nickel Back.

Also keep in mind, we actually have a 2nd rounder this season, we might be able to score O-Line or Cornerback there. But definitely need a replacement for Davis first.

Just my two cents. Cheers. :cheers2:

This board has 2 much faith in hogan. A guy who was converted from the offensive side if the ball who only had like 4 picks. I'm not betting next season on that. If i can trade back( were currently at 4) i'd think long and hard about dre kerpatrick out of alabama. This years dt class is poo, and i don't see a von miller type talent at this point.

You can only trade down if someone is willing to give you value to trade up....it is not that easy to trade down.

At CB, we have one legit starter (Gamble) but he is getting up there in age. One current starter sho sucks (Munnerlyn). And one rookie who is recovering from a knee injury and has not even been on the field. We MUST go CB.

There does not appear to be an OLB worth a Top 10 pick. So, take a stud CB at in the first and an OLB in the second.

Why are we naming specific guys in December when we don't know who will declare and who won't, we don't know who will be healthy or who could be hurt betwen now and January 10th, and there are plenty of guys whose drafts status drops or go up between now and the draft.

Who among you are draft professionals who do this for a living and really know what they are talking about. Just asking...........................

Agreed. This time last year De'Quan Bowers/Andrew Luck was penciled in as #1 overall, and Cam Newton wasn't even projected for the top 10.

Too effing early.

But whatevs.

Wow dude. It's not too early to talk about the draft. It's the last quarter of the season and we have needs (like any team). The draft is one way of fixing those problems. The fact that it happens in April doesn't mean too much. If its too far away then when is it ok to talk about it? Then you go on to give your breakdown of the draft after you demeaned such a thing.

I agree with your point, but it's still fun to speculate what our presents will be for Christmas in April! Relax, nobody is taking Draft discussion seriously. I think after the combine, Mo will probably drop to the 2nd rd.
