A Simple Comparison

To soothe some still sandy vaginas...

Since Julius Pepper's departure, here is how he stacks up against our star DE, CJ, over the last two seasons:

Peppers - 17 sacks/87 total tackles/4 FF/2 INTs

CJ - 20.5/101 tackles/2 FF/0 INTs

Their numbers are identical this year, but still... Food for thought.

That is all.

or did we get a deal when we resigned CJ instead of peepers

Winner.

And after CJ's breakout year last year, I'd say it's a pretty logical conclusion that he commands similar attention for the most part...

As I said, their numbers are identical this year. And CJ makes about 3.25 mil less a year.

Hurney actually won on this gamble (although he still should've gouged someone for picks with Pep).

Peppers also has blocked 3 kicks in that time span. He also has more passes defended by a wide margin.......both those speak to his diversity.

We use our DEs primarily on the line. But, that is why I included Pep's INTs because it shows he's slightly more versatile. Pep has 13 PDs to 4 for CJ and that's the only significant difference between the two. CJ has been in coverage a good deal this year and almost had two picks IIRC.

Bottom line is, they're not that different.
