Trade Cam to Indy for the #1 pick!

When they cut arguably the best QB of our generation to make room for Luck, it'll speak volumes.

We didn't even cut Jimmy Clausen for Cam.

I don't think they are going to cut Manning. I think they will give Luck a year to sit behind the guy.

But is this Manning's last year of his contract?? If it is then maybe they let him walk but otherwise I think they keep Manning at least one more year.

Luck should be good but the hype has overtaken how good he really is. He could very easily end up being a Matt Ryan type and not the next Peyton Manning, Rodgers, Brady, Brees, type. Which is still really good, but not elite.

they cutting the best qb because they will owe him 28 million if he is on the roster. troll.

Fact remains that if they cut him it means they believe Luck is going to be better. If they didn't believe it, keep Peyton and keep winning games.

Draft NewPeyton and win superbowls

Keep Peyton and win games

I think they give him his roster bonus and then either lease him for the year in front of Luck or put him on the trading block. He still would demand a kings ransom even after his neck surgery.

But then again they may just cut him. It will be interesting to see what the Colts do.

I think they owe Peyton a 28mil roster bonus or some poo. They aren't going to pay that to lease Peyton for a year while NewPeyton learns the ropes.

I get tired of hearing people say "well Luck should just come in and sit behind Peyton for a few years like Rodgers & Favre!!"

No chance that happens. 0%. If they did, that's like a $35'ish million dollar cap hit dedicated to two guys when one will be on the bench. Not to mention the fact the current Colts team is old/declining, especially on the OL. If they plan on keeping Peyton, they have to trade the pick and pick up good players to rebuild the team for Peyton. I don't think anyone wants to see post-neck surgery PeyPey playing behind that o-line.

They have two choices IMO.

A) Trade the #1 pick, Herschell Walker the fug out of some team, and rebuild around Peyton for 3-4 more years, or

B) Cut Manning, draft Luck, and rebuild around him

Option A relies completely on whether they are 100% sure on Peyton returning healthy. If this injury is overblown, because of his playstyle he probably has 3-4 years left at least of elite play left. I'm not sure I'd risk passing on Luck unless I was 100% sure(not 99%, 100%) he would be able to return and stay healthy.

And some people think they should trade him, no team on earth would take on that contract for a player coming off multiple neck surgeries. Even the Redskins wouldn't do that.

Of course, but it speaks to what they think of him.

Who the hell knows how it's going to play out, but it would be a pretty big vote of confidence.
