Pompous People

I know for a fact that some people just enjoy making people who serve them miserable. When my wife was a waitress, there was this couple that used to come into one of the restaurants that she worked at. They would be complete douches to their servers and then snidely congratulate each other about it..."Oooooo you're being extra nasty to day honey....hehehehe". What the fug is wrong with people.

The worst is when you have to go with your friends and find out they are completely rude to people in the service industry. Either that or they are shitty tippers, and then sit there and complain the entire time about the server.

Usually those people have never worked in the service industry.

I see that kind of stuff at Starbucks all the time...bunch of f**king assholes in there.

They get in line and make a complicated ass order and then are completely rude to the only person trying to help them. I had one girl actually say thank you to me one time because the lady in front of me was being such a raging bitch to her I made it a point to let her know it was ridiculous while she was standing there.

People are just rude, most likely because they have their own miserable lives and have to make themselves feel above other people by putting them down.

That reminds me...

I used to go to a Starbucks in a little strip mall. It was one of those setups where there was no parking directly in front of the stores. When you walked out of the door there was sidewalk, a fire lane, the "road", and then the parking area.

It was right in between Durham and Chapel Hill and the patrons were typically the well heeled CH folks heading to their jobs in Durham/RTP. It was not at all uncommon to see high end European luxury cars and the occasional Italian sports car in the parking lot and a fair number of Duke medical badges in the store.

So anyway...

I pull in one morning and as I pull into a parking spot this middle aged woman pulls up in her 7 series Beemer and parks in the fire lane. She gets out just as I'm crossing the road and heads into the Starbucks right in front of me. There was nothing unusual about this, people did it all of the time but for some reason it really flew all over me that day.

So as I get inside there is a line about 12 people long and she is at the end. I walked up and said "Excuse me, but can I have your autograph?"

That got a large portion of the lines attention as they turned to see who was the famous person in the store.

She said "What?"

Me "I said, can I have your autograph?"

She: You must have mistaken me for someone else"

Most people now paying attention.

Me "Well I figured anyone who just got to disregard the rules the rest of us have to abide by must be someone special and I just wanted your autograph"

chuckles break out in the store

She "Oh! Well!!" and out she storms without her coffee.

Some pretty strong laughs but no one really says much to me.

I did get free coffee for a couple of days but the better thing was the next time I saw that 7 series it was in the parking area.

I unfortunately worked at the DMV for a few months right outta high school....

Hey look asshole, I'm sorry you don't know how to pay your car insurance on time..but I can't renew your tag, Raleigh won't let me. While you're at it, if you could keep the "fug you, you fuging bitch" comments to yourself that would be great

I used to work in Starbucks and Pharmacy... Plus I'm a foreigner. Think about all the love I've got. I developed a special case when others get pissed and yell at me, I would smile back at them... I would act like I'm talking to my favorite person. They would get so furious because of it... The pissier they got, the bigger my smile got. They would leave and never comeback. Worked every time.

lol, I tend to do the same thing.

I make sales cold calls, and I meet the rudest freaking secretaries, gatekeepers, exec admins, assistants EVER.

I act like the nicest person in the world, and it infuriates these people...I love it!

This one lady was over the top rude to me when I was making a sales call. She gave me her card though while I was at her office. I called her a few weeks later and asked for an appointment, she hung up on me. For the next couple of weeks, I would call her, leave a VM. One day she made the mistake of calling me back from her cell phone and raising hell with me.

To this day, if I am having a bad day, I will call her on her cell phone, listen to her freak out & blow a gasket, then LMAO. :D
