Trench Warfare

A very overlooked aspect of the game of football are the trenches, the offensive and defensive lines. Overlooked because they are not flashy, they do not score points, they are not the “superstars” of the league.

During the season of our super bowl run, we had warriors in the trenches. Our O-line consisted of Todd Steussie, Jeno James, Jeff Mitchell, Kevin Donnalley, and Jordan Gross with Hoover as the Full Back. Our defensive monsters Julius Peppers, Brentson Buckner, Kris Jenkins, and Mike Rucker.

TLDR?

At least get this point, when our team was good, there was no doubt in my mind we would be strong on the line on both sides of the ball. We could and did own the line of scrimmage. Our big uglies need a serious overhaul, or need to develop a mean streak, because they get worked over in the second half of every game we play. We have the specialty pieces in place, we need to bring in some muscle.

Exactly,..yesterday a friend asked me what is wrong with the panther d the last couple years. I said simple.....retirement....trades...and FA..injuries...bad drafts...bad player development. Also outside of beason, their has been lack of veteran leadership. The last leader I remember was minter. Thats a big gap inbetween leaders.
