Please don't tell me I'm spoiled. You're just like the rest of the ignorant majority. Think it's our defense's fault we have a rookie QB who can't play yet at the NFL level.

It's not about patience. It's about knowing what's what. what it takes to win, and you don't. And I could care less if it's expected from a rookie. That's exactly the point. I expected to lose with a rookie. Just like I expected Clausen to choke as a rookie last year. I expected Newton to suck. I didn't expect so many to not be able to pick up on it. So this is worse. People and Cam homers along with the media have brainwashed most into believing it's NOT the rookie when it's been about as clear as day to me and those who have been objective and really paid attention since game 2 of this season.

But why exactly should I be patient or happy that my owner and GM put me as a fan in a position to expect to lose 2 years in a row? What the hell is there to be happy about? What exactly is the point? So they can make money?

I don't buy into the whole "we needed to do this" to rebuild mentality. It's a crock of poo and a lie. It's about as true as "we're losing because of our defense" and "we'd never be in a position to win without Cam".

All lies.

Why are YOU happy about it?

Why shouldn't I just wipe my ass with my tickets for the Texans? I'm only going if Jake starts. Otherwise, I'm going to give them away for nothing or throw them away. Waste of my damn money.

I'm very disappointed and don't buy into the excuses. I know we have a lot of talent on offense, and one of the best receivers in the league. We should have more than 4 wins, and we would have more than 4 wins at this point with a veteran QB under center and this amount of talented players on offense. I expected this type of performance from a rookie, but unlike most, I'm not happy about it. It's two years in a row making the same bonehead move. It's ok to try something new and see what happens. When you do the same bonehead mistake twice in a row, and not only not learn from it, but continue ignoring the problem and making excuses for it, it's pretty sickening and makes one bitter.

our defense is a major part of why we ended up losing this game, but they aren't alone in blame in today's loss. mare missing the FG that would have given us the lead, Cam's interceptions, hell even Stew had some pretty painful drops. Today wasn't a good day in the second half.

But even still, 23 points would have won half the games played today... and many teams that scored fewer than that number of points and won games had turnovers, too.

However, our defense isn't average... much worse than average.

uh, have you watched a Panthers game???? Tell me this ok. HOW does Chris Johnson run for 100 yards vs. this defense????? dont tell me he's great, he just ran for 23 yards vs. the Saints. how about why we gave up 200 yards to Forte??? this defense is BAD, there's no ifs, ands or buts about it. look at the facts and the wins. WHY is the only wins vs. teams with QBs making first starts in their NFL year??? i will tell you why, the panthers are then able to stack the line up and dare the QB to throw, that doesnt work vs. Ryan, Brees, Rodgers, Cutler and others that have beaten them.

First off, let me answer the question i FORGOT to answer. "why am i so happy with Cam?" it's simple, it's a four letter word called hope. people just look at the passing stats, but dont look at the other stats, sure he's thrown picks, BUT like i said, most rookies do, but he's thrown TDs, ran for 13 TDs and those stats have kept us in the games. the issue i see with Newton is he needs to learn to close the deal, that guy said he cant play in the NFL, uh i think he can.

now i agree with mav, our defense is a MAJOR part of why we lost. 1) WHY give up that big TD to Julio jones when we were still in the game?? 2) why was Quizz Rodgers so wide open in the end zone?? 3) watch that first Atlanta TD drive. now it's not the SOLE reason we lost, there were others. 1) Newton's interception (one INT didnt lead to any points, so that doesnt matter). 2) defense......3) Mare (come on, you should make that kick).

Sorry I've been far too criticzed to try to explain that concept and far too busy to get into it anymore.

Just ask yourself this question. How did Atlanta's defense give up such long drives, and huge plays, to our offense today and still won? How do all other teams still win when all defenses in the NFL do the same thing? Go look at offensive efficiency and figure out why all the top ranked teams in offensive efficiency ALSO have top ranked defenses in points allowed regardless of how many yards they give up. There IS a direct relationship. Learn why it matters more than pointing to isolated examples of our defense which mean little in the grand scheme of things compared to when an offense fails to score and turns over the ball. Especially late in the game.

Nothing a defense does really matters when you're offense can't score or finish. Nothing. It's a pointless argument if you're offense isn't playing well and it only goes one way. Fix the offense, before worrying about your defense. You can't even tell if your defense is any good if your offense plays bad. When your offense plays good, and your defense gives up plays that cost you games, then you can start worrying about it. Our defense gave up plays only after the offense screwed themselves over, all year long.

Our defense have kept some of the same teams you talk about to less yards or points than the defenses you believe are better. Logic = broken. The fact is efficient offenses wins football game. Teams with efficient offenses have defenses that allow less points. Those are the facts. Go look into it.

our defense FEEDS off momentum. When Mare missed that field goal, it deflated the entire team. The defense has huge swings in ability because: 1) a lot of youth, 2) tired players who get deflated easily.

Both of Cam's interceptions did matter in this game IMO because we never regained a lead after them... and while one of them didn't lead to points it did rob us of points and contribute to tiring out our defense more. But he's not the sole reason we lost by any measure.
