Not sure what defensive efficiency stat you are referring it to but if you are referring to scoring defense yards per point allowed, that's once again on the offense. That is yet another offensive efficiency stat and it tells you how bad our offense messed up and put our defense in bad defending positions. It's literally your opponent's offensive efficiency. It's exactly that number. And it's yet another stat you are now misusing, one I primarily explained to you in the first place. Efficiency in essence measures field position and turnovers. A defense has nothing to say about where it starts defending from and how many times they have to do it. Offense and special teams defense does.

Remember when I kept telling you that it measures scoring offense and that they are in fact different? You didn't get it then, and you still don't get it know. There is nothing played out about offensive efficiency. It remains the most important stat in football next to wins and losses. It's the most important aspect of a football team because your ability to score points is more important than any other. It has been and it WILL be again next season. If we don't have an efficient offense next season, we will lose again. And again and again. We will continue to lose and have losing seasons until we become efficient on offense consistently, REGARDLESS of any defense you can think of putting together.

Get the Purple People Eaters on your side. The Steel Curtain. It won't matter if you have an inefficient offense. You will lose and lose just as badly with those defenses.

Offensive efficiency is about as played out as winning itself. But I guess considering the mindset and excuses that keep taking place around here, I suppose a lot of so called self-proclaimed Panthers fans right now would argue and try to say winning is played out and overrated too.

Reality check: the Bears with Peppers, Urlacher and Lance Briggs just got beat by The Golden Calf of Bristol and allowed 10 points in the last 3 minutes of the game. Why did they lose? Cause The Golden Calf of Bristol's offense is more efficient than theirs. Their offense sucked today.

You don't know what defensive efficiency stat I am referring to? Just read it. It is self explanatory and laid out in the most basic terms. It had nothing to do with YPP.

Reality check: Our offense was more efficient by any measure yesterday than the Broncos. Their defense just rose to the occasion. Must be nice.

And even if you used OYPP Chicago's OYPP yesterday was 24.5. Denver's was 26.5 :confused: So by your terrible offensive efficiency measure actually Chicago had a way more efficient offense than Denver.

The original argument was our offense sucked because of their YPP ranking. How are you using a stat that measures more than offense to determine the offense is inefficient?

The original argument is that our offense was inefficient and that they make far too many mistakes in order for us to be a consistent winning team. They get a lot of yards and not enough points to go along with it. As far as what yards per point or efficiency is, it's not my argument. I don't know what to tell you. You have Google. Yard per point, efficiency is one and the same. You're basically arguing that a touchdown is not a score, or worth 6 points in football.

PFFL has already explained his logic ad nauseam...

-PFFL already has a grudge against the Panthers management/staff/coaches for tanking last season and going into this season with the logic of "gaining experience/rebuilding." He does not care when you try to explain Cam is a rookie, or that we have a new staff. He sees teams like the Broncos/49ers and gets jealous.

-He won't admit it, but he does not care about defense. The fact our defense is so reliant on our offense or the fact it's ranked in the bottom 5 does not matter. If our offense isn't totally efficient, then it's their fault.

There's few things more humorous than watching other people that have a hard time grasping a simple football stat or a vocabulary terms, trying to summarize my statements. You don't even know what the word efficiency means, which makes it damn near impossible to grasp anything else I might say about this team.

That's actually the more important part of yards per point and it's also what affects a team's efficiency or yards per point measurement the most. Scoring or not scoring. Points.

yeah and i guess you're even more special for failing to realize that if one team starts at an average of its own 10 yard line, and the other starts at an average of its own 35 yard line, then not only will the team with the better average field position have a better YPP but chances are it will also score more often

thank you, i agree with this poster. i think The Golden Calf of Bristol can be successful as a game manager and eventually, i expect to see him throw like a Jason Campbell with great running abilities. Cam Newton though is a guy who can be the guy once he improves his decision making.

No poo Sherlock. Do you really think you're actually telling me something I don't know there? I've practically written a damn book on it on this forum. Save your text. When you at least get a decent grasp on it then you might be able to mention something to me I may not know.

You're right it, makes common sense. It also makes common sense points are more important than yards. It also makes common sense efficiency is a better measurement of both yards and points and thus a team's ability than anything anyone else throws around.

Yet the majority of you keep arguing AGAINST common fuging sense! The only thing that's blatantly obvious, is that efficiency isn't actually common for most football fans, or around here, and the rest of them don't actually have the sense to figure it out.
