Cam vs Tim

An offense can have 70 points, 77 yards, the defense gets a pick 6 and they have a good YPP ranking. Do you really not see the problem with using YPP to determine how efficient an offense is?

Not really, actually that would be great, if that was actually possible! It would also mean that's an incredibly efficient offense so it SHOULD have a good YPP ranking.

But what you said is the equivalent of saying: if 2+2 = 90 than math is terrible and inaccurate. Do you not see the problem with that?

Yeah I do. The problem is in the real world and in math 2+2 doesn't equal 90 and that's not how it works. The problem I see is your understanding , or lack of, and your example. In reality an inefficient offense can't fuging be an efficient offense and vice versa. You are one or the other. And that's what yards per point measures. Whether you are an efficient offense or an inefficient offense. And in reality it's pretty much impossible to do what you give as an example off of 77 yards. No one is that efficient because it typically takes 77 yards to score just 7 points. You have to change the rules of football and make the field about 10 yards or so for your example to actually make any sense.

Not to mention if you score 70 points in a 4 quarter football game, regardless of yards, you are a VERY efficient offense and you are NOT going to have a low yard per point ranking. Not to mention there is more than one way to measure efficiency: per yards, per time, per game. etc. If you ever have a team score 70 points in a football game, there's no point wasting your time with numbers anyway. That team broke all kinds of efficiency rating records and you'd be better off measuring those guys on a whole different scale: points per minute.

first off im going to ignore the most dumbest question in the nfl all year long, its like comparing dan marino to trent dilfer.STOP IT..................never mind forgot you are mentally retarded.

now here we go again "showtime". you continue to talk about the same thing with your half truths. we dont score enough man i agree......but oe is not the most important stat,..........defense is. all of steeler sb teams had higher rank d except one time, most sb teams d are in the top 5, it has been proven true and is not myth.

cam cant afford to make a mistake because the defense and the stupis KICKER is not good when playing GREAT TEAMS with a qb. so cam does have to play perfect in those HARDER games.

now cam is clutch he has brought his team back in the nc and many other cg. the problem is he has had TERRIBLE PLAYCALLING IN THE 4TH QUARTER ALLL YEAR LONG!!!!!

you need 5 yards and you keep throwing lol!!!!!!!!!

cam didnt lose this game but helped a whole LOT!! mare did because they were down 1 point and the defense was playing decent. then stupid playcalling in 2nd half and cam two ints. defense did give up two quick scores but they could have still tied the game, only if they had the right playcalling.

and i would rather have "whats his name??" kicker and defense than him since they have to win all the "close" lucky games for him. who has no name beat, has he beat a starting QB thats good.................................NO. watch they lose to Tom Brady and Patroits.

I completely fuged that up. Was supposed to say" An offense can have 0 points, 77 yards, the defense gets a pick 6 and they have a good YPP ranking. Do you really not see the problem with using YPP to determine how efficient an offense is?"

Well my argument remains. Sorry, but yet another bad example that continues to back up what I say. You don't get it and don't understand how it works.

In this example your offense's ypp would be 0. And it doesn't get much worse than 0.

Your scoring offense's would be 12. 83. But it would also mean your defense was your scoring offense and your offense wasn't actually part of your scoring offense. That probably says more than the number itself but either way yards per point still tells the true story. Your offense was 0. Completely worthless.

So your offense's ypp would be 0 and 0 means you're not part of your scoring offense because you suck so bad you can't score. I'm sorry, what exactly is the issue you are trying to point out?

The Panthers have an average defense when our offense plays efficient.

I'm glad you changed this up a bit.

PFFL has already explained his logic ad nauseam...

-PFFL already has a grudge against the Panthers management/staff/coaches for tanking last season and going into this season with the logic of "gaining experience/rebuilding." He does not care when you try to explain Cam is a rookie, or that we have a new staff. He sees teams like the Broncos/49ers and gets jealous.

-He won't admit it, but he does not care about defense. The fact our defense is so reliant on our offense or the fact it's ranked in the bottom 5 does not matter. If our offense isn't totally efficient, then it's their fault.

-He changes his argument at will, so why not just :troll: him
