Allegedly according to one of DeAngelo broadcast (his thing he does for fans) Kasay was let go because of his role union rep. When I first listened to broadcast didn't think anything of it, now I'm thinking maybe it did have some legs.

I remember Kasay missing 3 field goals in one game (and an extra point). We went to the SB that year and Kasay lost that game as well. A team needs a lousy kicker. It gives someone to blame the loss on when the offense FAILs to reach the end zone.
