My New 2012 NFL Mock Draft

So...we draft a guy at the DT position who will likely take a couple years to contribute, play him on a rotational basis instead of filling a bigger need now?

I just don't agree with that logic.

who says he's ready to dominate nfl offensive linemen right now? too big of a risk with such a high pick. and a very important one to get right

I'm just saying that's the norm for DT's, there's a lot more to playing that position in the NFL, whereas the transition for other positions has shown to be easier, CB included.

he's ready enough to come in and start right away, esp when we were starting rotational guys like fua and mcclain last year.

he may not be as dominant as he will be in the future, but he'd certainly be an upgrade over anyone we have right now.

i remember that argument being used about a certain offensive position last year.

in fact i may have seen someone making that argument trying to argue for taking a DT first overall last year.

I only look at the panthers pick and I think either Brockers or Still are good picks but 8/9 is too high for Still

Agreed, the other option was Kirkpatrick who I'm really high on but I think the positive marijuana test might push him down a bit.

I'm thinking about switching up Still for Brockers in my next Mock, do you guys need more of a run stuffer at DT or a pass rusher?

both. stout against the run but able to shrink the pocket. makes life easier for LBs against the run and DEs against the pass. that is the main thing.

don't be afraid to swing for the fences.

Hate the pick because i think Still will bust and Brockers will be a stud, BUT I HAVE NEVER SEEN BETTER GRAPHICS ON A MOCK DRAFT. I stand by those words.
