Looks like we'll see black end zones this Sunday

Don't we usually get thrashed when we have black end zones?

No, we usually play pretty well with them. Someone just always feels the need to make some stupid joke about the Arizona game every time they are brought up and perpetuates the rumor that we do play poorly to people who haven't paid attention.

They don't normally paint them black because black paint absorbs the light and kills the grass. They can't wash paint off the grass so there's no way to change back without re-sodding, which is why they painted them black to cover up the orange and maroon from the ACC title game. They'll probably stay black for the Bucs game, then be painted red for the Belk Bowl, then be re-sodded in the offseason. If turf science is interesting to you, here's a story about how different colors of paint affect turf health. http://www.ncsu.edu/features/2011/09/turf-war/

If they resod the end zone after painting it black, and they paint it black to cover up the college logos, why not just resod it now?

Now see these are the kinds of things that we as Huddlers should be discussing. They are educational and stimulating.

Forget offensive efficiency and womens' breasts. Turf talk is cool.

Seriously.
