This fan base needs to stop treating everything Cam does like The Da Vinci Code

Guys, we really need to talk about this in general. When Cam gave his interview to ESPN Magazine the other day, he started off by noting that it was the first time he had given a national interview since the start of the season. Well golly gee, I wonder why that is? Could it be because EVERY SINGLE DAMN THING HE DOES IS PSYCHOANALYZED BY ARMCHAIR BODY LANGUAGE EXPERTS?

Cam says he wants to be an icon and entertainer: Cam is conceited and won't take the game seriously.

Cam puts a towel over his head: Cam is sulking and is a bad teammate.

Cam does a Superman celebration: Cam is an egotistical prick.

Cam chooses to run it into the end zone: Cam is a ballhog.

Cam isn't talking to teammates and coaches constantly on the sidelines: Cam doesn't care.

Cam curses after a loss at a teammate: Cam is a terrible teammate and a future locker room cancer.

Cam smiles: Cam's not taking the game seriously.

Cam is furious after losses: Cam's taking losses too seriously.

Cam calls out his teammates that accept losing too easily: Cam is a bad teammate.

Cam says something weird about being a lion that wants to break free from a safari or something: Cam wants out of Charlotte.

Cam uses the word "I" rather than "we": Cam is selfish and puts himself before the team.

Cam helps out with Second Harvest: Cam is just doing this for good publicity.

Cam gives touchdowns to fans: Cam is just doing this for good publicity.

Cam starts a foundation for underprivileged youths: Cam is just doing this for good publicity.

Can I just say something? Cam Newton is not The Da Vinci Code. There is not a hidden meaning in everything he does. 16 months ago, Cam was a 21-year-old getting ready to start for Auburn after having no other starting experience outside of high school and junior college. Today he is a 22-year-old rookie in the NFL. He is not Dan Brown. He is not JRR Tolkien. He is not the show Lost. He's not running for president. He smiles when he is happy. He is pained after losses and in press conferences when he's unhappy. He does nice things for people because he's a good person that wants to help others. He says what's on his mind when he actually does give interviews whether it's a goofy analogy or whether it's his frustration with teammates. Nothing more, nothing less.

Cam is going to end up being the best Panther ever and there are still a huge number of Panther fans whose only reaction to anything Cam does on and off the field is to BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH. Can we please lay off him just a bit?

We're 4-8 coming off a 2-14 season. Losing breeds anger, sadness, and couch coaches that know how to fix the problem, out of the shadows.

Cam is the face of the franchise now. No debating that. Every thing that happens will be scrutinized while losing. Whether it is deserved or not.

It's to be expected. No matter what Panther board or NFL in general board you go to.
