Just because those so called 'scientists' claimed to have found an earth- like planet does not freakin mean that other people exist beyond our planet. Facebook is great for us because our family is so widespread. My wife is filipina and has family in other states and in the philippines. Her family is very tight, and facebook allows us to instantly share pictures and videos, and to keep up with them and them with us.

As far as crazy status updates, none of it really bothers me. I just ignore those I don't want to read.
