worst plays in panther history

Shayne Graham shanks the short field goal at Green Bay. Wouldn't the Panthers have been 4-0 (Fox's first year) if they won that game? I'm pretty sure they would have....

Okay, okay...this doesn't really compare to Kasay's kickoff, but there were some bonehead plays by Cousin and Grant on that last drive as well.

Obviously Kasay's Superbowl kick had the worst effect of any play. I forgive him though, because he has come through for us so many times. He made up for it, when not everyone has. But the player error that I think pissed me off the most was one that cost us a different game:

October 2006. Panthers(4-3-0) loss to Cincinnati(4-2-0), which I think destroyed our momentum in the season. Looking back, one more win would have put us into the playoffs that year.

~20 seconds left. Delhomme to Keyshawn Johnson in the endzone. Keyshawn running slow and unenthusiastically. Kevin Kaesviharn clearly outplays Keyshawn Johnson and intercepts what would have been a game winning pass in the end zone. Before that game, we were on top. After, we were just an average 50/50 team.

Some fans say Delhomme doesn't give non-Smith receivers opportunites. He has, and plenty of times, with some pretty terrible results. You just have selective memory.

I was going to say that one too, but that wasn't our fault. That was just stupid officiating who wouldn't admit that immediately after cross Pepper's hand the ball made a dramatic change in course, BECAUSE IT HIT HIS HAND.

And you can thank the shitty camera coverage in the game for that one too. I complained about the film crews in BoA stadium for years after that. Because they only had a few angles, and the lighting was bad, and the quality of the film was low, we lost in replay.

whats the worst single play in panthers history?

i'll go ahead and nominate kasay kicking it out of bounds in the superbowl

:iagree:

Without question, the worst play in Panthers' history. Delhomme's playoff meltdown comes in a distant second to that.

There was no more Important play the John Kasay kick in the SB. If we would have put them on the 20 instead of the 40 we would have more than likely stopped them. That was just devastating and was worse then 10000 Delhomme turnovers cause it cost us a SB.
