Chris Paul Trade Discussion

all a bunch of crap really. The initial offer was a deal that was going to benefit all three teams involved and was accepted by all three teams. If Stern steps in to shut it down, as a commissioner and representative of the owners group, that just smells bad all the way. Lakers and Rockets got screwed when he did that, and the Clippers just got raped on their deal. It all just smells really really bad.

I agree something seems weird about not accepting the original deal. By all accounts it looked like a great one for everybody

The only team that really got screwed with this new deal was Houston.

really? the Lakers basically gave Odom away because they pissed him off. They were also looking for a top notch point guard to help them transition back to a standard post Phil offense. I'd say they got screwed too. Everyone magically got screwed except for Stern's team....hmmmm....seems all ok there?

Well, I guess the Lakers and Rockets got screwed. Oh well *shrugs*

I just hope Chris Paul is able to elevate the Clippers into the top dogs of L.A. But, even with all this happening, I still expect the Lakers to swindle some sucker team, so they'll be fine.

I know the haters aren't expected to give a poo, but in reality, you should be able to look past that and see how much of a crock of poo this was! Tell me another time where a deal was agreed to by all parties and it got shot down by Stern?

I really don't know why this trade was that much better than the Lakers offer. To be honest, the first trade had more proven players involved. This one is just based off potential.

Really? They got screwed in the first one involving the Lakers.

I get what your saying, and I realize that all parties agreed to the deal the first time, but that first deal was garbage for the Hornets. I see why Stern stepped in and nixed it. The Hornets would've had to take some big contract hits with the previous deal, and with this deal they most likely get two lottery picks, and their future is looking bright.

It does suck for the Lakers that this deal got nixed, and I can see why they(the Lakers) would be upset, because I dont see how they're going to get better this season. They dont have many attractive pieces to deal off. Pau and Bynum are your only options, and Pau's getting up there and years and Bynum cant stay healthy. I guess it sucks that Stern didnt let the Lakers jip the Hornets

Houston is in need of a C or PF big time. The previous deal had them getting Pau, so that's why I'm saying they were screwed by the deal getting nixed.

What I am saying is that that deal wasn't good for them because they gave up too much for only getting Gasol. They have Scola, so not sure that trade helped that much considering they gave up Martin and a 1st round pick. If anything, the trade being nixed was a blessing.

I agree with you in that the trade being nixed was a blessing
