Chris Paul Trade Discussion

What is the end game here? Is Stern hoping to find some crazy billionaire who can convince Paul to stay? There is no way the franchise is significantly more valuable with CP3 guaranteed to leave in a year than without him- nobody buying this team is going to pay assuming he stays.

The only way Stern's actions make sense is if he's trying to kill basketball in New Orleans and contract/ move the team.

It's not necessarily trying to keep CP, But to get as much as possible for him if he's moved. They've gave NO the ability to trade him, but they want as many grade A prospect's as possible back in the trade. If he's dealt it will be for a king's ransom.

In the NO=Clipper's deal Kaman was only a trade chip as an expiring contract, so the deal was really for 3-4 quality young players. So I'm guessing that Stern thinks that CP3 is worth 3-4 players that have high potential or draft picks for next season's draft.

Honestly, I don't think there's an end game in this madness. Just Stern being an idiot asking for as much as he is.

I feel absolutely terrible for CP3 and the Hornets organization, because this pricks agenda is going to wind up turning the Hornets into an even bigger laughing stock, and make them unable to compete in the West for the next decade....

It's a crappy situation, but it's impossible for me to feel sorry for the "Hornets organization."

The Clippers deal > the Lakers deal for NO. Surprised that one wasn't ok'd

I think the Clippers would be getting raped at

Eric Gordon, Eric Bledsoe, Chris Kaman, Al-Farouq Aminu and a 2012 unprotected draft pick via the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Stern passing that up is a complete fugging moron. Eric Gordon can ball and the Twolf pick will most likely be #1 overall.

After the Clips moved on and grabbed Chauncey Stern is trying to revive talks.

I sincerely hope no GM will return his calls for 72 hours, minimum.

if i'm the Clippers I would rather wait the season out and pray I can sign paul, with all that talent plus potential number one pick

Let's say they wind up with Harrison Barnes

Their future would be

PG- Chris Paul

SG- Eric Gordon

SF- Harrison Barnes

PF- Blake Griffin

C- Deandre Jordan

Holy poo

This.... the fact that Chris wants to go there, and the fact they are probably his top destination with $$$ to sign him (LAL, NYN, LAC) I don't understand why they are trying to trade all of their top pieces for him when they can just WAIT.

Not only that, but trading your pieces for him and giving up Minny #1 pick they won't have a 1st round draft pick until 2013. 7 months is all they need to wait. Be patient.
