Sad David Stern, Sad...

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-wojnarowski_lakers_out_of_paul_trade_talks_121011

Any acquiring owner would do his due diligence and know that chris paul is not going to be there anyway... smh...I am starting to think once Paul leaves in the summer, or gets traded to a team for much less, that team maybe contracted.

I don't understand the logic of Stern's thinking. Demps brokered an excellent deal bringing huge talent to the Hornets as well as a 1st round pick. If CP3 isn't traded he's gone next year without compensation and this will severely deplete the roster making the team much worse.

Or, in a big fug you to the players asscoiation does he hope some crappy lottery team will make a play for CP3 and in some twisted thinking punish him for 1 year?

Just ridiculous, the word is that Stern demanded the Lakers to give up Gasol, Odom and Bynum to get Paul...guy has lost control of his game, and needs to be gone. He held free agency in a shortened season hostage because of his desire to make sure L.A. couldn't acquire Paul and Howard via fair trade....

Which could almost make sense if the guy was going to be a free agent in 6 years, not 6 months!!

People forget Wade, bosh, and James waited until the off season... Melo did not want to wait because he wanted his contract before the new CBA.... At this point with a shorten season there is no reason CP3 won't wait and go where he wants to this summer... Nuggets actually had some leverage with Melo ($$$ CBA) but NO has no leverage over CP3... Moving him now is doing themselves a bigger favor.

You would think stern would understand this... Not to mention that sign and trades are still possible this summer.

This was about one thing, fuging the Lakers over from creating their big three. Every owner in the NBA knew that the CP3 deal was the first phase of a master plan to pair CP3, The Black Mamba, and Dwight Howard together. The first trade was more then fair. I hope Stern gets absolutely blasted for this, because the agenda couldn't be more obvious. He wasn't letting CP3 go to the Lakers unless they gave up everything they had other than Kobe....

If this Clippers trade goes through, if I'm the Lakers, I'm taking Stern to court.

They should have done that in the first place, there isn't a legal defense that the NBA could've came up with on blocking that trade and taking over the Hornets Front Office. Nothing, the Lakers would have taken the league to the woodshed and the NBA couldn't have done a damn thing about it.

The Clippers deal has been submitted, but I don't think the league accepts it.

The trade as submitted would cost the Clippers guard Eric Gordon, center Chris Kaman and forward Al-Farouq Aminu. It would also include Minnesota's first-round draft pick in 2012. As well Chris Paul as agreed to sign his option for next season as well, so he would play for the Clippers for two seasons at least.

The league (AKA David Stern) is asking for Bledsoe to be included in the deal in addition to the above players. So they are asking for Bledsoe, Gordan, Kaman, Aminu and the Twolves first round pick.

WTF is wrong with David Stern.

How is Stern still getting away with this? I dont understand how the rest of the NBA is okay with this, David Stern is not the owner of the Hornets, he cant do this. Not only that, the Hornets have no leverage in this situation (other than David Stern's unilateral trade rejections), the things he is demanding are absolutely absurd.

I mean, I guess you could make the argument that the Lakers trade would have them adding too much salary (even though you could easily move those guys- look at Odom) but that Clippers trade is an unequivocally fantastic haul for a guy who is 100% leaving after the season. Did he see how much Denver got for Melo last year? He has completely lost touch with the league.

And thats before taking into account his atrocious management of the entire Hornets situation- you know, the blatant conflict of interest that comes when the commish of the NBA decides to take over as acting owner/GM/Team President of a team that is owned jointly by all the other teams

Stern killed the Clips CP3 deal as well...

The Hornets-Clippers deal for Chris Paul has died, league source tells Y! Sports.

This is just beyond ridiculous...

Stern ought to be removed on the spot. This is so obvious, and so asinine it's insane. He ought to be getting ripped left and right for the incredibly huge conflict of interest this whole situation has presented. He is a fuging joke and needs to be drug out into the street, tarred and feathered, and exposed for the short little weasely troll that he is, and always has been. He has absolutely destroyed what little interest there was for the NBA with his desire to make an example out of Chris Paul. I feel absolutely terrible for CP3 and the Hornets organization, because this pricks agenda is going to wind up turning the Hornets into an even bigger laughing stock, and make them unable to compete in the West for the next decade.....inexcusable, unforgettable, and most of all downright pathetic.....
