QB Rating for Week 13

He doesn't have a clue so let it go. How you can have a very complex offensive scheme with multiple reads off of every play yet require the QB to do very little is beyond me. Arguing just feeds the troll and PFFL has shown he will stay at it for hundreds of posts changing alts as he gets banned 6 or 7 times a day. He will change the conversation going down different bunny trails to avoid being wrong. If the point of this message board is to discuss the Panthers and share information, you are wasting your time. He won't benefit from others or change his point of view . You might as well argue with a stone.

I explained how in my initial post. If you would only read. I swear the moderation here is beyond terrible. Allowing so many trolls like you to speak for people who actually do their homework and back up all their arguments with facts. It's a place where opinion and mantra is valued over facts, that's why good football discussions never actually take place. How the heck can you have a football discussion when you don't even have any idea what a troll is?

Think there's a reason for that?

He came in behind an established starter in Carolina and a coach that hates rookies. Managed 3 starts.

Broke his leg.

Was better than the incumbent starter but said head coach was too reluctant to play QB. Goes 4-1 in 5 starts.

Clusterfug that was 2010 ends in injury.

Lockout happens, late to camp, continues proving he's better than incumbent starter.

For an undrafted guy getting any starts at all is hard enough. Him making close to 10 mil from 2010-2012 is something not many UDFAs can say they have done.

There's 14 other quarterbacks that are better in completion percentage.

There's 15 other quarterbacks that are better in QB rating.

There's 20-25 other quarterbacks that are better game managers at this point.

There's 25-28 other quarterbacks that are better at dissecting defenses and have more experience.

The only thing Cam Newton truly has over the rest is his rushing abilities. His yards category is a byproduct of a lot of other things(receivers, style of offense, being down in games which calls for more passing attempts, lots of garbage time yards, etc). And that part goes for all quarterbacks.

That's why for quarterbacks it's better to look at completion percentage and overall passer rating. If there was an easy way to look at it, checking their avg per attempt, completion ratio, and rating to everyone except their #1 receiver, would be a great way to rank QB's. Manning, Brady, Brees and Rodgers wouldn't change rankings much. But a lot of the middle of the pack guys, would. For example, Steve Smith does a lot to help Cam Newton's passing yardage, completion percentage, and long bombs. Much more than most other receivers do for their quarterbacks. What you don't have in this league is 10 guys like Steve Smith. You might have 3-5.

This is an example of someone who doesnt get the obvious, which is production. Keep trying though.

From what I've read from multiple football analysts (outside of ESPN), the QBR is much better and more telling than the old QB rating number.

dude really not better than newton some people just have trollitis. i guess bush is better than stew. lol trd loves attention, i really dont believe he means what he says, he must be lonley. who knew the huddle was better than porn....lol

i would put newton in the top 10(of all players not just qbs) based on stats, but if you count wins i would put him in top 20. believe it or not newton flat out lost about 2 or 3 games that he could have won. arrizona, greenbay,bears and maybe they could have beat detroit not sure though...still super for rookie with no off season though.

also if he was winning WITHOUT a defense he WOULD be mvp hands down. arod would be second then brady.....The Golden Calf of Bristol and dalton dont deserve mvp consideration, they are system qbs that are product of defense lol dalton is decent though not The Golden Calf of Bristol.

thats like saying since tony banks coundnt win with the 2000 ravens and trent did, so trent deserves the mvp.....NOPE. the defense deserves mvp just like in denver right now.

i wonder how bo jackson knew he was good, i thought he was just pumped up because newton played for auburn and won the heisman/NC.........

And how did that 2010 Clusterfug you mention get started?

Answer: with Moore crapping the bed (which he admitted).

So now he's playing well in relief on Henne with nothing on the line... sounds very familiar.
