When I do the weekly stats thread on Wednesday people are going to have a very hard time legitimizing the "our offense being inefficient is the reason we are struggling" argument. It simply isn't true and the stats will prove that on Wednesday.

house of cards you over argue points dude. u talk about the same thing everytime u are on here. ''oie'' comes from getting down to the goal line and having stupid penalties and bad calls to dude. u just keep trying to bring cam, a rookie down.......why a roookie make u feel so insecure. lol he must be great.

u trying to put ALL the blame on him about the bad when u dont want to give him ALL the CREDIT FOR HELPING THIS AWFUL TEAM. of course he has thrown interceptions, dude has the weight of the world on him and handles it like an og. what rookie has to thrown as many as times him, who leads their team in pass,rushs yd/tds(almost one man offense), who always got bring there team back from a large point gap because their DEFENSE plays like NONSENSE.

yeah cam has flaws but like a diamond in the ruff he keeps shining......

oh and im still waiting for someone to tell me a team that won a superbowl without a defense, no matter good the qb and offnse is scoring.....

cause i know baltimore 2000 didnt score alot but still won so oe is not the most important stat, the defense is. oe is is still important though. lol patriots 2007 lost and i know they probably top 5 in oe....lol

As I explained in the post that was deleted, you are actually continuously trolling this team by making statements that are just plain infuriating and false such as those above. No one's trying to bring Cam Newton down, by simply making valid points. No Panthers player on this organization would agree with what you say about them. Only one MIGHT. The rest would probably agree with me and would consider you a troll

1. You are still confused because you listen to people who twist words around. I never said defenses don't matter. I said the difference between one NFL defense and another isn't great. No defense is great enough currently in the NFL to make up for offensive inefficiency.

2. No defense is bad enough to keep an efficient offense from winning.

3. Do your homework and STOP REGURGITATING CLICHES. There have been countless Super Bowl blowouts and total defensive meltdowns. Including the one we played in. The #1 defense in 2003, the Patriots, help set a record number for the number of allowed points allowed to the Carolina Panthers in the 4th quarter. Yeah our 03 offense set a record against the "#1 defense" for how bad of a meltdown they had in the 4th quarter. Also in the last 6 minutes for both defenses before the half.

And we were hardly the biggest scoring Super Bowl in the history of the NFL. There have been A TON!

4. You still do not understand that offensive efficiency ultimately dictates how HIGH your defense ranks. So does offensive style. Running vs passing teams and time of possession. Those two aspects of football have the biggest impact on yards allowed rankings. Offensive efficiency has the biggest impact on points allowed.

cam has to play a perfect game with 4 to 5 tds 1 to 2 rushing no int/fb to win this year lol. no rookie is is going to do that every game.

hoc u seem to think we are puting newton up in canton already. NOPE.

we are saying he has POTENTAL to be a great qb in the future.

u are probably mad at SHOCK VALUE THAT NEWTON CREATED becasue everyone thought he was JAMARCUS RUSSELL 2.0.........and hes playing decent but newton is not a hof yet so chill man.

Where do you keep getting the idea Cam Newton has to play a "perfect game"? Is this just another statement you have heard around the Huddle that you are regurgitating? He's been nowhere near perfect even in our wins.

There is a big gap between between the level of play Cam Newton is displaying and perfection. Huge.

Being average, or above average, which is what he was against Tampa, Jacksonville, Washington and Indianapolis results in winning too. That's not perfect. That's just being a good QB. Not great. Not perfect. Not fantastic. But just good.

But we've only been able to do that against inefficient offenses and bad teams.

What you are doing is crediting him with all the good results and blaming the rest of the team for all the bad ones. That's a problem. It's just player bias. And he's a rookie on top, like you keep repeating. They are always primarily responsible for their teams having losing seasons. If you'd just open your eyes, you'd see we are no different.

Cam Newton does a lot of good things. He also makes A LOT of mistakes all game long. A lot.

No our defense lost actually, but we were the #2 defense that year, and it was due to our kicker muffing a kick-off after a score and NE winning by a FG. Because no defense can realistically stop a FG attempt most of the times. Defenses cannot prevent scoring generally speaking.

All an offense has to do in 95% of all of their drives is drive down the field 40 yards and they CAN score a minimum of 3 points. 40 yards. That's all it takes for 3 points. It's a 45 yard FG kick. Heck make it 45 yards and you get a 40 yard FG kick which is a pretty average kick. You can't block FG's on a regular basis. And you can't stop touchdowns on a regular basis.

So if you are at least not a totally inefficient and self-defeating offense you will come away with a minimum of 3 points on most drives, especially after you cross midfield. We are one of those that don't do that.

We're one of those offenses that either come up a yard short, get a penalty to take ourselves out of FG range, get 3 and outs or sacks or make poor plays that stall drives, get the ball in our opponent's red-zone only to come away with no points, or throw a pick in our own end-zone to give the other team free points. That's been our consistent playing style in most of our games this season.

You aren't even close to being an average NFL offense, let alone "perfect" when you make that many mistakes. And not only does that make for an inefficient offense, those same mistakes make for a bad defense. They go on to impede your defense's ability to stop points from being scored. You are in essence helping your enemy against your defense.
