Other than this week, do we care how Ryan is doing?? If the Falcon fans love him so much then why are there threads whining about him so much on Atlanta message boards? I suspect it is because Ryan is inconsistent. He has 5 games with QB ratings below 80, 2 in the fifties, and one in the 60s. By comparison Brady has 1 game below 80 and none below 70. Brees has 2 games below 80 and none below 70.

In fact Newton has five games with passer ratings below 80 as well. But you expect that with a rookie. If Newton is still doing that in his fourth year, the thinking might be that he is not improving. Of course the ratings don't account for the rushing TDS and yards. Including those into the totals was something that was championed by every falcon fan when Vick was there. If we calculated total TDs instead of just passing ones, newton is far more productive than Ryan this year. Ryan throws because that is all he can do. Newton throws and runs because he can.
