How did we get so lucky?

Falcons get duped into drafting the next 'Peyton Manning' which really turnt out to be a cheaper version of Joe Flacco without the arm strength.

Too bad Falcon fans, you're stuck with a qb who has the arm strength of a little girl. And to top it off, he's actually paid 12 million per year.

While we choose an absolute stud.

Silly Falcons.

Its crazy how I thought before the season that I wanted newton to have a season of the caliber of ryan, flacco, or bradford. But would need a run game and defense to assist him.

Right now newton has barely any defensive help, and he is directly responsible for the success of the running game as well as around a 3rd of the yards and around 75% of the touchdowns.

AND he's also passing better than nearly every rookie qb before him. Breaking records as far as production goes.

Also, Chud and Shula are letting him learn from his mistakes and letting him have full control of this offense.

I chuckled when Julio dropped the last second end zone pass against Houston to tie the game....he should have caught that ball...Funny that Matty's throw looked like he was heaving it from the 50 yard line, when he was actually at around the 30.

Lol, a 30 yard throw is like a hail mary for Matt Ryan. He throws his entire body into the throw.

at least they didn't overpay for that WR they drafted this year.

lol

When I saw what they gave up for Jones my reaction was  That was way to much. I felt the same way when I saw what Oakland gave up for Carson Palmer. Even the bad deals Hurney made to get Everette Brown and Edwards werent as bad as those two deals.

We can excuse any trade Oakland makes.

The answer is in your thread title:

"How did we get so lucky?"

I'm not the type who wishes failure on anyone, but it's going to be interesting to see how his situation shakes out next year. Luck opting out of the draft is exactly why we have Cam and I'm glad the cards fell that way. Just another example of how projected #1 doesn't mean anything until the player has NFL starts under their belt.

Has to be the most ignorant post ever on the net. Matt Ryan is one of the highest rated QBs in the history of this game. Scam is a flashbulb. Once NFL defenses realize this guy has the mental capacity of a 5 yo it's over for you.
