Armanti redux

lol the fact that he even lined up at RB yesterday shows that I'm right. The team is going to start using him more creatively because theres no point in trying to make him a 100% wide receiver. i apologize for the wrongness of your opinions, but its not my fault

There are so many stupid assumptions in this post that it's borderline ridiculous. If Hurney wanted to force the coaches to play his "bad" picks to save face they wouldn't have released some of them so early. He's there because BOTH Hurney and the Coaches see a reason in keeping him around.

E.Brown,D.Jarrett, E.Sheldon

No assumptions needed and my point is proven.

Good day, Sir

The only reason the team has to use him "Creatively" and not as a WR is because he is not good. Good players dont need to be hidden by trick plays they produce without it.

The only person who you can argue for is Jarrett. Both Shelton and Brown were cut after their second season. What about that fatass Robinson that was cut? Unless you believe in cutting players after their rookie year your argument is retarded, like I said before.

retard logic

Randel El was used creatively....he was used creatively b/c he could lineup and play WR every week....gave them the ability to work in the gadget plays every couple weeks.

you can't insert WR only for wrinkles.....the wrinkle then standouts.

Insult responses= Correct Logic that has no retort.

Both Jarrett and Shelton both were kept for too long. Shelton even said he was surprised to be kept as long as he was. E.Brown was also but not at the extreme of the other two. AE is a project that is failing, if we were a good team then I maybe could understand keeping him but he really is taking a spot away from a player that could contribute more.

Again, Jarrett was cut after 4 years, Shelton, however, was cut after year two. I don't understand how you can say that two years is too long. Brown was also cut after two years. So you're advocating cutting high round players after their rookie season yes?

So basically fug you good logic this is E.Brown 2.0 and he is going to be a star. Im really tired of Hurneys picks sticking around only because he says so and not because of production.

it's not that, E. Brown didn't have to make anywhere near the transition Armanti did. Cutting Armanti next year, unless he massively stinks up camp (very possible, but seemingly unlikely since most reports out of camp this year for him were quite glowing), would just be wasteful. Remember how he played in the preseason? It's possible he could get to that level in the regular season, too, but it's hard to play inexperienced players when your entire offense is largely inexperienced in the system as well.

When you draft a player you plan to convert, especially when you have limited offseason workouts, expecting production in his second year to be high(especially when we are relatively speaking stacked at receiving targets) just seems unreasonable.

He should, and will, get another year to show he belongs.

also FWIW he hasn't been terrible on punt returns this year... he's had a couple nice returns, and the amount he has improved from last year is crazy.

Ones that dont produce, yes. If they cant play ST and dont produce then the Roster spot should go to guys beating them out. If your a high level pick you should produce and if you dont then more times then not its not going to work out. Name one player that sat on the inactive list as a Panther his first year then came in to produce his next year?

Its all in how you want too see Edwards. I see him as a man taking up the PR spot and not producing. Last year we were 9th in PR and we are next to last this year. Thats not coverage, thats the Return man. I understand he is project but the WR pos is not that difficult in the NFL. If he cant even seem to be added into one formation or package that worries me. Waiting 5 years in the NFL for a player to produce seems a very long time to cut guys that deserve the spot more. I think thats why you dont see very many teams drafting project players.
