Which reminds me, why exactly was McBain a healthy scratch the past two games?

Either he hadn't been practicing well or he has been sick. Neither would surprise me. A lot of "healthy" scratches are usually something minor like that in hockey. At least, according to a lot of hockey friends of mine. One of them is a Canes fan, and we talked about that during the Florida game.

Our PP HAS to be better. A lot of one-and-done shots and not enough screens. That's ALWAYS been a problem. We don't get guys in front for deflections. If we do, it's just by chance. A winger trying to change sides or something and they make a heads-up play. We stay so still. The best we do is rotating guys at the blue line and rolling guys like Pitkanen down to the half-boards. Hopefully Muller starts to address this soon. That's all we need to be repping right now. Shift guys in on that squad. Find a line or two that works. This is killing us. We are 28th on the PP (12.0%) and 26th on the PK (79.6%).

One more fun stat. We can't close games out. We are DEAD last at winning when we score first at a .429 win percentage. However, almost 9/10 times that we are leading after the 2nd period, we win. Basically, if we score first, will probably lose. If we have the lead going into the 3rd, we're golden. We have to be better in the 2nd period. That is where our problem lies. It is fixable. Let's fix it.
