Watch Morris Claiborne

I don't think we will pick a WR in the first unless we are picking lower than many of us think and they fall in love with someone who slips a bit.

And we have like 2 2nd round and a 3rd pick and he knockout atleast 1 defensive need in FA. I still might poo on Hurney if he picks a wr then but I won't lose my mind about the pick.

PS: The WR pick will have to be a Special team monster as well.

claiborne's as close as you're getting to a shutdown corner in college and he is also deadly with the ball (11 picks for 274 yards and 1 TD - also has a KR TD). he would be widely considered a better prospect than peterson if he was as much of a physical specimen.

we can draft offense instead though if you're into that whole being terrible on defense thing

If there's no Defensive player in the top 5, best offensive player, Blackmon, or Jeffry if Blackmon isn't there

At least Claiborne is likely to be a legitimate Top 5 pick. I'd have no problem with that (even though I think OL and DL are better value in the Top 5).

But Jeffrey? A Top 5 pick? You really want to waste a Top 5 pick that bad?

This WR poo is because there's no defensive players, outside of possibly Claiborne, that's even CLOSE to worth a top 5 pick. You pick for value at the spot, not reaching for need. Blackmon would be good value at the spot we're probably picking and we're not exactly set at WR for years to come...and an o-lineman wouldn't stop RBs from getting 100 yards a game or cover WRs either but would be good value at the top of round 1. We're just as good at o-line right now as we are at WR: great proven #1 but getting older, and good (but can't stay on the field) at #2 OT and potentially good but far from proven at #2 WR in Lafell or Gettis.

What is up with everybody and this WR poo???

Is a wr going to help us stop bad RB from gaining 100 yards?

Or Wr from getting open on 3rd and 15 plays???

Now Oline is ok but another wr is stupid idea. I will poo on Hurney if he picks another wr this year.

We have a top 5 offense now without a full offseason, a rookie QB, and missing 2-3 starters. The offense will improve with a full offseason alone. I don't see the value in drafting another WR (which will be the 5th in 3 years) to a team with already more then enough weapons in the run and pass game.

How many balls do you think we play with. We have 2 RB who don't get enough carries. 2 TE, 1 star wr and 3-4 young wr who haven't had time to develop. Not to mention a QB who will get 4-5 carries a game. We don't have enough room for everybody to get their touches in already.

Still all of that doesn't help that we can't stop anybody. Wr is not a value pick for this team right now.

Then what do we do with the 1st round pick? Which right now would be a top 5 pick.

There are like 11 teams 4-8 and and we can range from 4-11 at this moment. Right now I'd say Coples/Brown and a CB in the 2nd has more potential than Claiborne and some LB.

All of that is true, but take Smitty out of this lineup (due to injury) and our receiving corps begins to look very, very suspect.

Like most, I would love a true playmaker on D. It just isn't clear there are any where we will probably pick.

My preference remains to trade down if possible.
