Kemba is probably a better defender than dj, though neither is going to make first team all defense any time soon.

Nope, a lot of that has to do with size of both of them.

But it's something you have to consider when comparing these two and your PG for the future.

PG of the future and taking the reigns from DJ in the near future aren't the same thing

:)

Well when I say PG of the future I mean in the near future in this situation. I fully expect Kemba to overtake DJ by next year because of the reasons I listed. The future is now ha.

this wont be a good year but give them two more high picks and we could be talking about one of the better young teams in the league

This upcoming draft would be a good one to get some serious talent in. Really, the best thing for the Bobcats would be for them to stink miserably this year and get the chance at one of the phenomenal talents coming out of this draft.

Well the Bobcats are certainly on the right track to get a good pick this year, they have one of the least talented rosters in the NBA. Thats just life in the NBA- unless you can sign big name free agents, its better to be hot garbage than mediocre.

Unfortunately, I have a feeling the Cats wont use their amnesty on Diop even though he is painful to watch play basketball. With Kwame hitting free agency the team just doesnt have a legit center, and I dont think the team wants to pay the guy all that money just to clear up some cap space (lets be honest, who are you spending it on)

Diop is getting the amnesty. Bank on it.

Bobs can cut Diop and then resign his ass for 2 mil or less per year. No way is Diop's current contract going to be paid out.

I'm pretty sure the amnesty doesnt void the contract- you still have to pay the guy. It just takes his salary off the payroll so it doesnt count against the cap.

And by per year you mean just one year. No way would we offer amnesty to Diop then sign him to a multi year contract, even if cheaper. Because Diop is getting paid regardless.

That doesn't make sense. Why would we pay him 9 million instead of 7?

I still don't think we will use him as an amnesty right away. Maybe we will at the trade deadline if we make a deal and have to make it under the tax line. Maybe we will next off season.

There is no reason to amnesty him right now besides the fact it is irritating he is not performing. In fact, IMO using the amnesty right now on Diop would be just as disappointing a decision from our front office as trading for him in the first place.

This is assuming we don't sign Nene or Gasol
