Where is your place that you find some Zen at?

For me its the back woods of West Virginia. My family comes from a very poor part of the country. My dad grew up using an out house. I like to go back and visit relatives who still live there, just as a reminder of where I come from. I've done pretty well for myself, and have been lucky to do so. But I am the same as those folks, have just had more opportunities thanks to my dad's military service.

Not sure its the same kind of Zen as you are referring to here, but it does bring a lot of clarity to me.

Have you seen that documentary "The Wild and Wonderfull Whites of West Viriginia"? It chronicles this family of hell raisers from Boone County. J. Knoxville produced it. Pretty good film.

My Zen is sitting in my seats before a Panther game taking it all in. I also love any place in the United States during sunset.

Ive got a few:

Sitting on any beach watching the ocean. I can do it for hours on end.

In my sea kayak on a large body of water. Nothing but me and my boat - God I love that.

About a mile south of Clingman's Dome on the AT there is a spot that your hiking along the ridge of the Smokies at about 6000 ft and its less than 10 feet wide. To one side is Tennessee and to the other is NC. Its one of the most peaceful places Ive ever been.

There's one area on the AT near Mount Rodgers, VA, that is full of wild horses. Hiking up there, clean, crisp air and everything there is to love about the mountains, PLUS the wild horses following you while your hike... That was amazing. Check it out if you're a hiker.
