The incident, first reported by the South Florida Times, occurred early Nov. 14, barely 12 hours after a Dolphins' home victory over Washington. The taxi driver alleged in a police report that upon his arrival at Fort Lauderdale International Airport, Marshall refused to pay his fare and, saying he needed to use the restroom, entered the airport. The driver said Marshall then returned through a different entryway and got in a second taxi.

The second driver learned from dispatch that Marshall had failed to pay his fare. He took Marshall to Port Everglades to make contact with a deputy.

Marshall said in the police report that he had instructed the driver to take him to his home. After falling asleep during the ride and waking up at the airport, Marhsall began arguing with the driver, whom he found difficult to understand.

“Completely innocent,” said Kennard McGuire, Marshall's agent, in an e-mail to the South Florida Times. “It was a communication issue, more of a language barrier, in not understanding Mr. Marshall's destination.”

Non-story. The cabbie probably recognized him and was trying to get him to pay more than he was supposed to. Even if not, alcohol makes you do dumb poo. At least he was smart enough to take a cab, and not pull a Donte Stallworth.
