Current Standings and Positional Needs

After watching some video on our young DTs and LB here our my updated positional needs for the carolina panthers.

1. CB- Besides Claiborne and Hosely nobody really stands out Kirpatrick could be good but he reminds me a lot of richard marshall whom i loved but apparently gets beat down the field to much (won't be a problem with better safeties)

2. FS- I'll say this for the last time if we get rid of Mare and restructure TD we may have enough to afford the best safety available which is Laron Landry

3. DT- Dontari Poe, Fletcher Cox, and Jerel Worthy seem like good picks although Poe is the only player who can move between a 4-3 under tackle and a 3-4 noes tackle which we our gonna have to do unless we want to keep getting killed by Graham and Gonzales.

4.OLB- (only for inssurnce if Thomas davis goes down) I would say get a rush linebacker but we already have two solid ones with a year under there belt

5. OL (Im still not sure about wanting to update an offensive line that protects the leagues 5th overall offense)

I'd like to get Landry, but I fear his injury bug...has he played a full season yet? (I don't follow him or the Redskins closely)

There looks to be only 5 players at this time that would be considered elite and garner trade value.

Luck

Barkley

Kalil

Blackmon

Claiborne

After the top 5, I don't see anyone wanting to trade up for say the 7th, 8th or 9th picks.

If we lose out, we would have a better chance for an elite player or trade. Win one more game and sit at 9, then we take BPA.

Depending on how the combine goes, a couple more QB's might draw some attention from QB starving teams. It's becoming more of a pass happy league so there may be more reaches for QB's this year. One can only hope.

I think RG3 will be a hot commodity.. someone will want to trade up for him.

Hell no to Laron Landry, dude sucks in cvg, I'd rather take Chris Harris back at his advanced age rather than wasting money on that dude.

Base 3-4 ain't happening.

We desperately need a permanent replacement for TD and a starting caliber CB. Upgrading FS at some point wouldn't bother me, but I don't see it as a glaring need.

I am SICK of huddlers saying we need a new OT. Say what you wana say but Otah will be back next year. Whether you all think we should upgrade or not, it doesnt matter. Hurney has alot of faith in Otah and wont take a OT early.

Too bad faith has nothing to do with players staying healthy. Hurney also showed faith in Dan Morgan, T Davis and a couple others.

I love Otah, he's a true difference maker BUT he's missed more games than he's played in and that's pretty condemning at this stage of his career.

otah has shown no ability to be relied upon.

he won't be getting an extension unless it's as a backup, which is the only way that he should be viewed and even then he makes me nervous.

he's talented, but he's not what you would call a warrior or durable.

I think Te'o decided to go back to college.

    • I like that a lot; Ware from Troy and also Khalil Mack who played at University of Buffalo
    • I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc. So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛
    • bold prediction, I think Mike Green will be the best pass rusher in this class, and thats even with abdul carter.  He reminds me of demarcus ware, not just in size and prowess, but even coming from a Sunbelt school (Ware from Troy, Green from Marshall).  I think he is passionate about the sport where I think Carter as the physical freak might not have the heart.  Thats the guy Im sold on and am gonna hammer the table for, I know he's not projected 8, but he is projected like 12-13, so if a slide back can happen and we still get the guy I want, I'm 100% on board. All that said, it takes 2 to tango, I think the Cowboys are the tango-er.  IMO theres a VERY good shot that Jeanty is available at 8.  Why does that matter?  Not only do the cowboys NEED a runningback (dak sucks without a run game), but MORE importantly, gee where did Jeanty play in high school.....Frisco TX, literally Dallas Metro.  Soo, RB is a position of need and the best RB and most blue chip draft selection that  could improve the offense immensly played IN dallas metro AND will be in range for them to move up and pick?  Do ya think Jerry Jones is gonna just say no to the Jersey Sales?  Jerry might have sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to prevent black people from going to school, but he's no idiot (he is).  IMO, we get a good enough package, prlly their first and third,  maybe a conditional later and we move to 12.  We get Green, they get Jeanty, everbuddy happy.
