It's getting less and less interesting and informative... Just seems like this season has wore him down a bit.

As far as players go, he mentioned Darvin Adams was a guy that has been practicing hard and deserved an opportunity to move up to the active roster and possibly get put on the active list for gamedays and "we'll see what he can do."

I couldn't hear the first part on one question but it sounded like he was talking about Jordan Senn... Said he's been playing well and will be in the mix to start or play one of the LB positions next year - don't hold me to that, but I think that was who he was talking about.

Said Fua looked good yesterday, possibly had his best game of the season. Said he was concerned he and McClain had hit their "rookie wall" but Fua looked good yesterday, got some pressures, and would like to see him finish the plays with sacks next opportunity.

Said McClain didn't look that great yesterday and didn't have his legs.

Talked about Gamble and how they have changed some things to put him in opportunities to make plays, credits him for being a hard worker and making those plays.

Said Martin is physically talented and gifted a player he's seen... Said the difference in winning and losing games is a few plays and execution. Yesterday we closed it out and made the plays when we needed them. Said Martin was in position to make the play against Detroit and didn't (on Megatron's long catch), but was in position again yesterday and he did make the play.

Talked about the RBs when asked if DLo was underutilized considering we signed him to an pricey extension... Basically said DLo isn't being underutilized because his use depends on what we're trying to do. Said you have to look at his carries, Stew's carries, and Cam's runs... Said we ended up with 32 rushes to 30 passes IIRC, so we have good balance and our guys are being utilized basically...

(EDIT: I kept remembering the 27 number, and after looking back at the stats, Cam threw a total of 27 times, so idk, where these 30/32 numbers are coming from, but IIRC, those are the numbers Rivera kept quoting - so don't shoot the messenger.)

Said ST has been impressive but seemed really irritated about the blocked FG and said it was an unnamed player's fault who missed his assignment and got "slammed" if I heard him correctly, which led to the block.

This is basically in reverse order but just going back through everything I can remember...

i think maybe they CALLED 30 pass plays, but cam decided to put the team on his back and scramble when he had to.

Actually he said the most important thing he did all year today. He's pretty much came out and pointed out we were able to be balanced because we didn't turnover the ball early and get behind, and because Chud decided to spread the responsibility of scoring touchdowns.

It's amazing how your argument has changed over the season to suit your crazy premise.

First it's "we win when we don't throw interceptions". Then we lose to the vikings with no interceptions and you change to "We can only win when we don't turn it over". Then we win with a turnover and you change it to "We only win when we don't turn it over early".

He still hasn't come out and pointed the finger at our passing issues, especially in the red-zone, pressure situations, or 4th quarter comebacks, but after today, I am fairly certain he's very much aware of it, and either has been too busy covering up things, or simply just now beginning to figure it out and learning as he goes along.

Either way, this makes me feel slightly more optimistic about his coaching now.

Not really....Chud gave a RB one rep inside the 10. He has done that before....

You can't give all Cam's rushing opportunities to RBs b/c he is running them in as teams play the pass.....which gives us a mismatch. RBs don't create those....and most of Cam's scores now aren't 1 yard dives.

Our RBs need to break bigger runs. Williams has 2 for scores.....we should have more by now w/ this backfield.

. The only stat more important than turnovers is offensive efficiency and it's practically the same thing. Except offensive efficiency also includes turnovers not by way of interceptions or fumbles, but downs as well.

So what stat is Offensive efficiency? All, I've ever seen you talk about is YPP which is team scoring efficiency, not offensive efficiency. Have you discovered some new, awesome stat for us to ponder?

so it's not about turnovers, but turnovers early?

here I thought it was about not having turnovers early that put you behind...

strangely enough, very few of our early turnovers have put us behind at half time. and when we have been behind, we typically come out strong in the third. in fact we've given up, what, 8 2nd half leads?

but you're right. it's our darned offense. silly offense, being so bad.
