Did whoever was arguing that he couldn't block actually watch him yesterday? If so, I'm wondering if they feel happily mistaken.

Did you see the play where Naanee blocked two guys at once while Lafell was just standing there blocking no one? I didn't see Lafell have but a few plays where he was even asked to block.

it would be good for LaFell's progression to stay at no.2 for the rest of the season. I think the main reason he was behind Naanee on the depth chart was his inability to grasp the playbook in time (i'm not saying that as a slight to his intelligence because with a regular offseason he would've probably had it memorized well enough), but he now looks like he's good enough to line up on the edges against starting corners.

LaFell and Naanee have posted similar numbers this year. they both tend to have a couple of grabs a game (Naanee with the slight edge, due of course more playing time.)

Wrong. Naanee's been targeted much more than Lafell, and Lafell's caught most of what was thrown to him. For what he's gotten, Lafell's much more productive than Naanee.

LaFell should definitely be the starter. We drafted him for the purpose of our future and the future is now. He is a really talented guy who delivers in clutch situations.

He's also pretty fast, not Steve Smith fast but he can hold is own which really caught my eye last season. He's got deceptive speed.

He's too talented to keep off the field in my opinion. Naane isn't offering us much in the playmaking department.

Gettis might over take him in time. But you can be sure LaFell will be the incumbent #2 next year.

So who do you think block better?

Naanee is the best blocking WR on the team. There's a reason when the Panthers go with one WR on a running play that Naanee is in there. Heck, I want Lafell to start over him but you can't honestly say Lafell is a better blocker yet in his young career.

He also helped cost the Panthers a few games early on with weak holding penalties that ruined good drives while they were leading in games, only to see the defense collapse afterwards. :sifone:

Hello Panther fans.

I know this is a dumb azz question but why haven`t the coaches considered using Pilares more in the slot position this year? I mean that`s where he excels and gets chunks of yardage. He had 15 TD`s in his 2010 year. Just look at his highlights from college and what he did to USC. I think with him and Steve Smith in the slot that could be a deadly combo. JMO.. Thanks.
