Cam's day

I don't find 7 minutes left in the 4th to be "top of the 4th" at all really.

I also don't think it's unreasonable to ask an average defense, when given 89 yards of field, to hold a team to a FG. But our defense isn't average... and the Saints offense isn't average, either.

it's not surprising we lost that game. It is surprising you don't see how the defense is responsible. "Well of course they're going to give up a 90 yard touchdown drive, it's the Saints, DUH!!"

i'm sure someone will find something to bitch about with newton....they always do[/QUOte

Even though I wished he could get the ball to Smith more like they did earlier in the year and not Nanee, I would rather bitch about the crappy plays being called in to run.

At home....we took the lead in the 4th quarter....they were at 3rd and long near their own 20 with 6+ minutes left....we didn't stop them....had the opportunity...didn't do it. Simple, yet you choose to spin it by saying of course they scored a TD and ran all but 40 some odd seconds off the clock....they do it to everybody.

I didn't think we had much of a chance at all before that game, but I was very wrong...I can accept that it happened, but the D didn't close out that game and they had a chance to do so.

Saying they had the chance to close out three and did so every time is false....and there could be more scenarios that apply here, but I didn't dig.

In the final minute against the Vikings our offense had the ball LAST in their endzone with the opportunity to tie or win. We didn't do poo with any of our 4 opportunities. The point? You can't win close games down by less than a score or tied games without scoring.

It's impossible no matter what your defense does.

Had the D stopped Vikings on that 3rd and 10 in the 3rd Q with 4.29 left. We would have the lead at the end of the game. :beatdeadhorse5:

I get it... when we win it's because of the defense and when we lose it's Cam's fault, LOL

So if we had lost the Colts game it would have been Cam's fault that our defense coughed up 13 of the 19 points they scored on a 42 yard PI call on Cap, a subsequent 17 yard untouched TD run by Donald Brown and a pathetic attempt at a tackle by Martin on Wayne's 56 yard TD reception?

We won because at the end of the game the defense stepped up and cleaned up the mess they had made to that point. They started the fire, so they don't get credit for putting it out.

Yup, we lost that game....Steve had a holding call, Olsen failed to catch one placed in his hands and Mare shanked the FG....Cam did his job in that game....other parts of the game let us down. It happens, and I don't have a "Magic Bullet" theory to explain all of our losses away as though I am some sort of pseudo stat savant....at some point you take and evaluate each game....the "stats" for the year don't plug into each game as neatly as you imply, but you know this.

7 out of 8 failures in scoring and putting the game away in the 4th quarter in 8 of our games this season, says he's first. He's at 1 for 15 possessions now and counting. If you can only put the game away 1 time out of 15 opportunities, you suck as a quarterback. You suck ass.

Not to mention, one of the worst quarterback ratings in the situation which affect both sides of the team's efficiency more than anything else(scoring last).

You aren't worth poo as an NFL QB if you can't win at least close to half of your close 4th quarter games. You're decent if you can win half of them. Half is average.

You're saying Aaron Rodgers isn't worth poo?

He can't win a close game or come back in the 4th quarter to save his life, but I think we can all agree he's at least pretty decent.

Looks like PFFL disappeared but I will answer his question about who I think has good defenses despite pooty or maybe average offenses.

Miami, NYJ, Seattle, Cleveland, Jaguars, Bengals, and Baltimore.

If we had anyone of these team's defense we would be in the playoff hunt.
