Cut Sherrod Martin

Martin shouldn't be cut and isn't even close to the worst starter on our defense, but he isn't that good either. He would be a back up on a good defense, but we obviously aren't one.

Every one is talking about that Wayne touchdown, but did we took a horrible angle on the Brown touchdown too. Should have stopped him. I would love to upgrade over Martin, but it isn't really feasible right now considering all our other needs.

Some of you really need to brush up on your football 101 before posting. Before it can be consider a bad angle look at the down and distance also if Martin had coverage responsibilities. Not to mention the fact that Brown wasn't even touch until he was 15 yards down the field going full speed.

I know some of you expect him to be Ed Reed or Troy Polamalu. But not everybody can have super star safety play.

I love how people are arguing few safeties make that tackle on Wayne. Especially when the reality is 90% of NFL safeties make that tackle. He had the angle and it's Reggie Wayne - it's not Boldin or Smith, he's not going to juke you out of your shoes. It was pathetic.

Not only that, but his angle was TERRIBLE. It seemed as if he was waiting for Wayne to run into him.

Sherrod can't tackle worth a poo. At times adequate against the pass, terrible against the run. We desperately need an upgrade at the FS position.

I know physics is hard but let's look at this.

1. The quickest way from a-z is a straight line.

2. You have a RB running full speed untouched 15 yards in a straight line almost. Who also has a 20 pound weight advantage over the Db trying to stop him coming from a angle.

3. We also most consider he has 3-4 yards from the goal line which can be reached just by breaking the plain. So Martin has to find a way to stop a player outweight him going full speed with a shorter distance to go. Do you think you maybe asking for to much?

Why are we not blaming the player who might could have slowed him down so Martin angle could have been better?

Erm, seriously?

You realise Wayne had Peyton Manning throwing the ball to him, right? His strength is running crisp routes and having sure hands whilst being reasonably quick. He only gets YAC if he's beaten his man and there's daylight to run into. He's not going to run around or through anyone.

Being a reliable target in a Peyton Manning offence will let you rack up a poo ton of yards.

You must be a Troy alum.

He recognized that Donald Brown was free. He knew he was running full speed. Why he thought he'd catch him with the angle he took, only he knows. Plain and simple, bad judgement.

He also had pass coverage duty and they were either in the red zone or just a few yards from it. How would you have stop a RB running full speed untouched with 2-3 yards from the endzone. Coming from the other side of the field.

By taking a better angle.

Martin was at the 12 yard line when Brown was around the 8. If he had chosen a better angle he would have saved the TD. They might would have scored anyways but that's not the point.

When doesn't a safety a pass coverage duties? That's not the issue here because he obviously recognized it.

The dam issues is The front 7 inability to stop the run and Fans expect safeties to save the day all the time.
