Cut Sherrod Martin

It also comes with the job that you make up for your bad plays which he did.

I am not sure in the job description it says make bad plays so you make up for them later. There's no denying Martin is playing bad recently. It's probably a combination of factors. But at the end he did make a great play. But that's not how you judge his play. You have to look at the whole game.

The fact that you look pretty stupid after this thread and yet still after he seals the game you still refuse to admit any wrong makes your thread look even more horrible.

That said, he spotty as hell, but he made more good plays than bad today, like it or not. (even with that HORRIBLE miss that went for a TD)

Maybe you've never played football (or any other sport) but no DB in the history of the nfl has never been burnt, ran over, or made a bad play.

Not even "Prime time" can say he hasn't ever missed a tackle or been burnt before.

I remeber a few plays where 89# beat Ed Reed and Adrian Wilson. 2 of the best safeties in the game.

So maybe look at the situation before making a judgement.

Open field situation with a top 10 wr trying to make a TD saving tackle with nobody else on the defense closer then 15 yards.

Not to many safeties get Reggie Wayne in that situation.

That's not what I am saying. I get it everyone makes mistakes. But when you consistently play below average, it's time to upgrade. It's time to try something different. And that play at the end doesn't make up for his play.

Martin isn't cutting it for me. That's all I saying. He isn't doing his job as a safety. That missed play on Wayne wasn't the only one today. And the missed tackle isn't even what gets me. Even if he did make the tackle, he was so passive and gave him at least 10 free yards.

Does he consistently play below average, or is the defense just so bad up front that it makes all of our safeties look bad. As bad as our run defense is, I imagine our safeties are more concerned about the run than then average NFL safety. I mean our run defense really is bad, among the worst ever in the NFL.

Also, only 1.5 sacks, and best I can remember, very few pressures. Hard for any secondary to look good with no pressure.

martin may not be great, perhaps he can be upgraded, but right now he's the best we have at his position and cutting him would absolutely weaken an already miserably bad defense.

In no way am I advocating cutting him. That just wouldn't make any sense.

But what I am saying is, don't defend the dude's play by saying he made the game saving INT.

While true, our secondary by ourself isn't that great either.

Regardless of how our front is playing Martin seems to be playing bad. He had some missed tackles today, including the Wayne catch. The TD run from Brown, he took such a bad angle. I just see plays from him that I scratch my head.
