Nonetheless, I think tackling is something you can work on, and we know he was a better at tackling last year. It could be he was exhausted at how many receivers and backs are reaching the secondary this year. If we improve the front seven, Sherrod will play better.

Let's not forget, last year people were ready to throw Godfrey under the bus. So give Martin some time to fully adjust to this defensive scheme. It takes some guys a couple of games to adjust to new systems, other guys it takes a full year. Although, we should bring in better competition behind Martin. He's not really worried about Pugh taking his job if you ask me.

The INT by Martin was unimpressive. The guy that really won us the game was Charles Godfrey with the tip pass. A complete scrub safety could have made an INT on a tipped pass. Martin was in the right place at the right time. His coverage is suspect, and his run defense leaves much to be desired. He is an average safety at best. That being said, we have bigger needs to fill than FS, sadly.
