Report: LaFell to move to #2 WR spot vs. Colts

Only problem with Lafell going to #2 is he will be running much shorter routes now. It seems his best ability is the deep routes.

I think it's more fitting for LaFell's abilities to run short to intermediate routes. I think he's great over the middle and on jump balls. LaFell isn't a deep threat receiver, he runs a 4.5 forty. Remember that catch at the end of the Vikings game, it was a big one but he doesn't have top end speed.

I hope he does well enough to stay in there at the two. This passing offense needs a spark. Ultimately I think we need a true deep threat like Gettis in order to become a truly potent offense. As of now, Smith is the only guy who can scare defenses in the intermediate and deep routes.

i wouldnt say misinformed because i quoted exactly what rivera said. apperently your the one assuming that you "KNOW" what your talking about. theres a difference between your theories and what the current HEAD COACH is saying. you didnt obliterate anything you idiot, stop trying to sound smart.

Only if you don't have a hard on for making stupid remarks then trying shift the conversation to personal insults when confronted with the facts that obliterate your misinformed opinion.

Welcome to the new and disproved huddle. A good conversation side tracked. I miss the old days. My attitude is growing piss poor. I need to leave again.

It has been stated over and over an over again that Naanee was starting because of his familiarity with the play book. It has been stated by the the coaching staff and others that he has helped in the huddle to let everyone know what they are supposed to be doing. He was starting to help Cam adjust to this offense by giving him a knowledgeable crutch in the huddle and a receiver he could rely on to always be in his correct spot in routes.

It has nothing to do with overall ability with ANYTHING, blocking, route running, ellusiveness, nada.

Interesting analysis given thart LaFell is averaging 16.4 yards per catch which is second on the team and way ahead of Nannee or anyone else not named Steve Smith. He is actually a oretty good deep threat and has made some big third down catches deep down the field. Deep threats don't necessarily have to have top end speed. They do need to be able to jump for the ball and have good body control.

Do we run enough to the outside for a wr's blocking abilities to be the the most important factor in deciding who starts? I understood the importance under Fox, but now (while it is a factor) it shouldn't be as important as a receiver's ability to make plays in the passing game.

thats what i was trying to stress before the olsen fan boy decided to intervene and act like he knows anything

i fuggin hate mr know-it-alls

Yes but what do we do with him now? Cause I'll take him over AE for #3, and #4 with Gettis unless he just comes back balling, I don't want to count on it thou.

I'm pretty sure Cam knows the system by now, plus he has DA who also knows the EXACT playbook. What Naanee ran in SD was similar to what we run here but it's not EXACT.
