So he was accused of shoplifting while he was still in the store? Where's shoplifting? He never stole anything...? Shoplifting requires leaving the store without paying... I smell lawsuit.

It would be larceny after they left the store, shoplifting while in the store.

As the link I posted says, its misdemeanor shoplifting if you attempt to conceal a item while still in the store. At least in North Carolina. I imagine most states have similar laws.

  i don't get why you care so much about a huddlers opinion. You are free to think differently. Some formulate their own opinion, some follow others opinions like you are doing with former NFL players opinions. That's fine.
