It is part of the silent snap count. Most teams are using the same method these days although not all.

This is something that a lot of centres do. If you watch carefully the duration between this movement and the snap varies. The issue comes when we are running short on play clock because then the D knows its not an attempt to draw them offside.

This isn't something new. Normally it is something done on the road in order to let the other linemen know he is getting ready to snap the ball.

I could be totally wrong, but the first time I saw it was under Urban Meyer at Florida. Maurkice Pouncey did it like 3 or 4 years ago.

All i know is that Kalil needs to start getting the snaps up. He is snapping the ball at Cam's feet all the time
