Cutler>Peppers ?

all the NFL Dynasty teams had a Franchise QB

Brady, Aikman, Montana/Young...Bradshaw, Favre, Elway

granted there is the Marino example, but all in all you are playing to ultimately be a sideshow and hope to make a run maybe 1 season, without a top notch QB

The reason the Culter deal got done and the reason Peppers deal has gone no where is one reason and one reason only.

Peppers agent has been on the Huddle reading the thousands of "Peppers Trade" threads and "Cultler Trade" threads.

Cultler's agent has not.

/ends thread.

Julius Peppers, former #2 overall draft pick, 4 time pro Bowler coming off a big season. 29 years old in the prime of his career.

Jay Cutler, former #10 draft pick, 1 Pro Bowl, 87.1 lifetime QB rating. 25 years old. 15-17 as a starter the last 2 years. Drama is an understatement with this kid the last month.

So how can the Broncos secure 2 number #1 draft picks, a 3rd round pick and Kyle Orton for Cutler and a token 5th rounder inside of 24 hours upon deciding to trade him?

Meanwhile Pep's agent can't even sniff a deal weeks into the process?

What's wrong with this picture?

I don't buy that, I think an elite DE is just as important as an elite QB and most of the league agrees with me...

Let me ask you this, if you were Bill Polian and you had to let go of either Peyton Manning or Dwight Freeney, which would you let go?

If you were the Packers GM back in the 90's and you had to let either Farve or Reggie White go, which would you let go?

If you were the Giants GM and you had to let either Eli Manning go or Michael Strahan go, which would you let go?

Right... that's what I thought. The truth is, a DE on his best day can't have the impact a QB can. Jared Allen is an awesome DE, did he carry the Vikings deep into the playoffs? There's no legitimate debate here, Charlie Casserly is damn lucky neither Vince Young nor Reggie Bush have proven to be elite players yet or drafting Mario Williams, as good as he is, would go down in history as one of the most infamously boneheaded picks of all time. Mario Williams has been great down in Houston and they still suck.

A DE's primary value is pass rush and there are many ways to generate a pass rush, there's only one way to consistently throw touchdown passes.

wait a second, i thought we were using elite DE's... why is dwight freeney in this debate? he gets maybe 2 tackles a year outside of sacks. and about the giants... eli... hes a whiny little girl.

Dear Mr. Skew:

Why is it you berated a poster in another thread about starting another Peppers thread, but you are joining in the conversation with this one? You do point out the many threads, but you also held back the punch.
