Very interesting comments on the differences of the collegiate game and the pro game. Kid is more bright and in a very unique way than he gets credit.

it's funny no one seem to question any of the other QB's intellect but with no proof to prove Cam isn't a smart young man, we're told to believe Cam isn't. And some are surprised and amazed by how "bright" he is as if it's a shock.

um...hate to tell you, but he wasn't the only one. ryan mallett was generally regarded somewhat of a moron and not just because he had a problem with drugs. his intelligence and decision making on and off the field were pretty well scrutinized and he drew more honest and deserved comparisons to jamarcus russell and ryan leaf. he had the size and the arm, but the intangibles weren't there.

in fact walterfootball.com tweeted this after his pro day.

"No one should be surprised Ryan Mallett looked great today. He's like a hot chick w/ STDs. Looks great, but better to stay away."

I read that back around draft, but that is a freakin funny analogy!

Honestly I'm kind of sick of hearing Cam pout and act mopey about losing. I support the guy and love some of the things he has done (although I must say I was against all of the hype floating around this board in the pre-draft times) but gee, if you are a top-pick then naturally you are most likely to get drafted by a less that stellar team = losses

With that in mind, as much as I am excited about his drive and determination, It's about time to realize that he is on a team that is not built as of yet the way we all wish it to be. Many are praising him about his leadership qualities, and yes I am also amazed that he has stepped in and commanded this teams respect and admiration, but at the same time in this interview he basically whines about the loses and his disappointment that he is losing for the first time in his life. While all true, seems to me it would be more of a leadership quality to show himself as a bit for optimistic (even if its false optimism) rather than dwell and go on and on about how downtrodden he is about the losses.

Although he doesn't say it..I cant help but get the felling by his words, tone of voice, and body language that he feels he has done his part, but the rest of the team hasn't. And again even if that is true, kind of crappy for a "leader" to display that kind of emotion or carry himself like that at a press conference.

1. He is supposed to be upset with losses. How would you feel if he came up to the podium with a big smile on his face. You would probably complain even more.

2. It's possible to be upset about 1 game you just lost and optimistic about the next game. On game day he is giving his all, smiling, e.t.c.

3. Getting the "feeling" that he feels he has done his part is the same thing as saying he has a "fake" smile. He has never pointed anyone out(matter of fact defended people), never said he has done enough and always said that "he" has to play better even after wins.

Yeah, I actually like that Cam has to go through this experience earlier in his career. This is a guy who has been "blessed" his whole life up until trouble at Florida, but even there his team was winning. Losing this much is probably helping build some character that he has never had to develop before. Next year this time I bet his interviews are 100% better whether it be a win or loss. I wish I could coach him.
