I wish we still had this defense

05 D was head and shoulders better.

Just imagine how good that team would have been with last year's running game.

Anyway, I don't see why people think it will take years to build this defense back up. Hell, they're just a couple players away, and if Trgo was really the problem that most fans think he was, it should happen instantly. I'm still not quite sold on the theory that Trgo was so terrible, but I do believe that Meeks is a little better. At the very least, he seems to be more of a player's coach who know how to teach pass defense.

I think the run defense is going to regress under Meeks.

I think we're doing the same thing with Harris.
if he had kept up forcing fumbles like he did his first year that comment would be pretty far from the truth. harris is solid. if he can get back into forcing fumbles he could be one of the best in the game.

Harris is great in run support. But he couldn't cover my grandma.

you know last year they had the potential to be better. couldn't get the INTs but overall it was incredibly solid and could get nasty. i think that one of the reasons for that was the boxing glove that they gave to the guy who had the best hit that week.

they got soft when giving the glove was discouraged and they stopped doing it. after that stopped, they saw a drop in production everywhere but not just there. they didn't have that aggressive streak. they just got soft.

they need to get mean again. they need to get savage. let the fines come. just inflict pain.

IMO everyone in the NFL just caught up with Trgo scheme. That happens when you dont change much then we did the worst thing you could do instead of tweaking what we were doing we revamped and went complex. Just bad game planing IMO.
