Every HP I have owns dies in 3 years...been through 3 so far, and now I'm a Mac guy...

You would use a computer that is more than 3 years old?

Not saying HP builds good stuff, if you dont build your own you're going to get proprietary garbage that most likely cant be repaired/upgraded anyway.

I have an old Compaq that my parents bought when I was 16 (which would be 2000) and it still runs today. I don't use it, but every now and then I'll plug it in just to check and it still works fine. Ran it pretty constantly for a good 7-8 years after some upgrades.

Have yet to own a Compaq since HP bought them, but I do have an HP laptop that I bought in '08 and it's still going (knock on virtual wood).

The mobile best buy site doesn't like your links. I will throw my 2 cents out there on gaming laptops though you look to be going for a desktop. Gaming laptops are a terrible investment. Crappy battery life, high heat, and over priced compared to a desktop.

On the pro side, you can find some decent value in the mid range side of life. Those $600-750 machines with the i5 and 540m are decent performers that won't decimate your budget but should still run SWTOR well.

Its up to your play style. I like the portibility of a laptop so that's what I play LOTRO on. I personally will never go back to a desktop. Though I may go crazy and buy a silly 1500 gaming laptop one day. :)
